Really delicious Indian food with so many great selections for vegetarians!

If you like to pay a lot of money for small portions of potatoes and peas, then this is your place. Pros: Nice Tables Cons: Small Portions, Expensive, No A/C

Goa Fish Curry was love at first bite! A flavorful coconut milk curry, with a gentle heat that sneaks up on your palate. Sheer heaven! more

Delicious Food! 2/1/2010

I have eaten there many times with my girlfriend and we both really enjoy the food here. I often work out of the country and this place is on my short list of restaurants I must go to either before I leave - or as soon as I get back. The menu selection is great for us, who primarily eat vegetarian fare. Each time we visit, the staff is friendly and helpful when we may not know exactly what something is. Just last week, we discovered that they had a lunch buffet - tried it - and it's one of the most incredible deals we have found for a lot of great food and an incredibly reasonable price. Highly recommended. Pros: Great service & selection more

Fantastic!! 4/19/2009

I am an Indian from the east coast, so I am used to Indian food of certain quality, and after trying various places in Los Angeles, I have to say with pure certainty that this is the best Indian kitchen in Los Angeles. The dishes are authentic and tasty, the tandoori meats are succulent and juicy, and it's clear that they use the freshest ingredients. Plus, the staff, as rag tag as they may be, are attentive and truly aim to please. I would say A MUST! And try the daily buffets. Buffet's tend to be the most cost effective way to enjoy Indian food, and theirs is fresh, hot, and full of unique dishes that are not the typical dishes you will find in other North Indian style restaurants. Enjoy!! Pros: Excellent buffet, attentive staff, best Indian food in LA Cons: The decor could use a little work more

Small Portions & Expensive Prices 10/11/2008

Worst Indian food in the greater L.A. area 9/6/2008

If you like Indian food, stay away from this place! The food is completely bland. The curries taste like cardboard, the chutney is watered down and tasteless, even the naan is dry and flavorless! I couldn't believe this place had the nerve to call itself an Indian restaurant. The service is HORRIBLE also. I ordered three items, and they got all three dramatically wrong (I ordered lentil soup and got cauliflower instead!). Even the water they serve smells and tastes like old chlorine! STAY AWAY! Pros: None! Cons: Insultingly bad food, terrible service, and a high price. more

Avoid delivery 6/28/2008

I've had take out once before, wasn't that great (not that take out can compare to dining in the restaurant, i'm sure...) more

love it, can't believe it's not busier! 4/16/2008

I have known this restaurant for a year now, since I moved to Santa Monica and since they changed owners, managers, servers, chefs and kitchen staff. I just realized that I should be writting a review about my numerous experiences at India's Oven on Wishire. Pros: food!!! service, parking, relaxed atmosphere more

best indian delivery we've tried so far. great vindaloo, samosas, and eggplant. naan is good, but pricey. more

good food 12/18/2007

I've been to a majority of the Indian restaurants in the Los Angeles area and, in my opinion, this is one of the few Indian restaurants worth going to in the area. The owner is really friendly, the service is excellent, and the food is amazing. Pros: Food, Service Cons: Ambience more

WORST INDIAN FOOD IN LA - If you could even call it Indian or Food 10/16/2007

They claim to be the ""Best Indian in LA"". According to who? A person on the verge of starvation with no taste buds? Nah, I would rather starve to death. This food is sick! Not even Indian! The tandoori chicken wasnt tandoori. The raita was plain yogurt, no salt, cucumbers, nothing! Besides the tandoori chicken, there was only one other dish with meat and 3 vegetable dishes. All bland, boring and left me very hungry. Ive been to over 20 Indian Buffets in LA and this is by far the worst. Save yourself the time, money and dissapointment. Go anywhere but here!! more

Not quite as good as La Brea 11/20/2006

I'm a huge fan of the India's Oven off La Brea and was a little disappointed in its Westside chapter. Still, it's some of the best Indian food you can find in LA. more

New Owner 9/11/2006

My hubby's friend treated us to India's Oven for lunch. Talk about an ideal experience. I was a little apprehensive to go after reading the reviews on Citysearch, but it turns out there is a new owner and chef. The owner, server and bus boy were all so nice and accomodating. The food was more than excellent. I'd consider having them cater a party. more

EXCELLENT! 4/2/2006

Haven't had good indian food since i left London in 2002. Took a friend there on Friday night had the Sag Paneer and it was delicious. Everthing from the Nan to the Chicken Tika Masala was on point. I have found my new Indian Restaurant in my new home. Pros: The FOOD, Service more

Not the best, but not bad! 8/15/2004

The food is o.k., depending on the chef's mood maybe?. The establishment was well managed (based on second visit in 3 years). It's one of those last Indian restaurant decisions to dine in. Pros: service more

GOOD 9/18/2003

I went there for dinner and had the saag paneer. If you want anything with tofu in it, go somewhere else- they dont have any. And do not try to ask for a variation on the menu- they wont do it either. BUT, the saag paneer was delicious! I loved it and went back for more. Pros: good food, alcohol Cons: no variation, ambience more

Don't go for lunch 6/25/2002

I took my family here for lunch and the buffet was probably the worst I've ever had. If you don't like your food spicy or warm, then this place is for you! Otherwise, go somewhere else. I don't expect much from a buffet, but this was extremely subpar. Cons: Expensive Parking, Poor Service, Bad Food more
