Most Indian restaurants have pretty decent food or at least it's edible. India Mahal had the worst Indian food I've ever had. They should be ashamed to call themselves Indians or Punjabis. The biryani was wet and gooey. It tasted like boiled rice, chicken, and tomato paste just mixed together. The lassi and raita tasted sour. The lamb vindaloo was nothing like vindaloo. It was just boiled chicken in brown gravy with potatoes, not the spicy red gravy of a vindaloo. More like a soup if you ask me. The roti and naan tasted like cardboard. No one in my party ate much and we certainly didn't take it home. It was just awful! The waitress was not very friendly and acted like we couldn't speak English. It did not give a good impression to out of town guests. It was definitely the worst meal I've had at an Indian restaurant. I would give it no stars if I could. If you are vacationing around Wilmington and want Indian food then you are better off making it in your hotel or cottage because this is not worth the money! It's was waste of my $150.
Cons: very bad tasting food, bad lighting, waitress unfriendly, slow service, prices high for level of quality
