Worst

Pros: Good parking, Nice service, good smile Cons: Stale food - unhealthy- There were flies around the buffet stall.

Who Gave a rating of 9.2. 5/23/2005

Never! Never! Go there. It is a rip off, Who Gave a rating of 9.2. I would not even give a rating of 2.9. Worst ever restaurant in any category i have ever been to. This is not an Indian Food. IT IS A RIP-OFF. This is not an Indian food by any standard. Add to that poor and pathetic service makes you walk out of there. Unless you are desperately hungry and nowhere else to go, do not step in there. NEVER!!!!!!!!! more

Great Experience 3/4/2005

I loved it last night when I was in Richmond for a business trip. I have travelled around the world and this is by far the best Indian Food I have had anywhere outside India. This food comes closest to the one you find at New Delhi. I enjoyed seeing the courteous servers who were dressed in Indian attire. Surprisingly they new the food just as good as I did and I am Indian. The Chicken Tikka Masala was the best I had ever tasted. The Poori was not oily like you find in every other restaurant. The Indian music playing in the background added to the nostalgia I felt while I was there. The Ras Malai dessert was outstanding. I loved every minute of my visit here. Pros: FOOD, SERVERS, DECOR Cons: None, None, None more

Avoid if you really love indian food!!! 1/12/2005

This restaurant was deeply disappointing. I felt that the Indian frozen-food packs available at supermarket are much better than the restaurant's recipes. Frankly, it was pretty close to the worst Indian cuisine I have ever had in my life. The Chicken Tikka Masala had no flavor and it was so orange in color that it appeared to have a glow. It was almost as if it suffered some toxic or radioactive exposure. They even messed up my diet coke (which is pretty hard) as it was flat. Furthermore, the decor was scrappy and cheap looking, which exacerbated the already weak experience. I would highly recommend that you eat elsewhere. Pros: Fast and kind service Cons: , Lame decor more

You will Love it 1/5/2005

The restuarant is totally unlike other Indian restuarants you've ever been to. The atmosphere is beautifful and very relxed. You don't feel you are in a restuarant on Broad Street in Richmond. It feels like in India inside. The food is awsome and the service is excellent. I especially enjoy wathcing Indian shows on the TVs while eating my native Indian Food in its true flavors. It is a must for every one to eat atleast one meal here in the lifetime. I highly recommend it. Pros: Food, Service, Atmosphere more

Great Indian Food 5/30/2004

Best Indian food I have had outside of Manhattan. The service was amazing - the staff was fully versed on the dishes and all the menu had to offer. Speaking of which, the menu was very grand as well. The chicken masala was splendid. A must for anyone who loves traditional Indian food in a great atmosphere. Pros: Great food, Good Service, Ample parking more

A different kind of Indian 1/29/2003

Well, it's not the usual Indian food I'm used to. I like my curry yellow and this was red without any curry flavoring. I cant say the food was bad, but I was just expecting something different. The lunch buffet wasnt fresh because it had been sitting under a heat lamp for several hours. Arrogant service makes these experiences even worse. Cons: food, service more

The Best of Richmond 1/12/2003

I frequently visit Richmond on business. I have tried every other Indian restaurant here, but this one is definitely the best of Richmond. The food, ambiance and the service is all better than I have ever experienced in Richmond area Indian restuarants. It beats many Indian restaurants in Wahsington or New York areas. I love thier Chicken Pasanda and Palak Naan. Ummmm! Pros: Food, Atmosphere, Service more

My Best Indian Dining Experience Ever 12/29/2002

I was in this restaurnt earlier tonight and this is my newest favorit restaurant. I loved the Chicken Tikka Masala and my girlfriend ordered Chicken Pasanda which she says is out of this world. I am definitly going back to this restaurant many many times again... the ambiance is very classy, yet not at all imposing. I loved the way their American servers were dressed in Indian outfits and had thorough knowledge of Indian foods. My Best Indian Dining Experience ever in USA. Pros: Friendly Service, Ambiance, Great Taste more

The Best of Richmond 12/7/2002

I am very happy that I found this Indian Restaurant in Richmond. Since I moved from L.A. this fall, I have tried every Indian restaurant in here. This is most certainly the best. The waiter was very prompt and friendly. The Chicken Rangeela dish was superb. Hot full of fresh Spinach flavor. The Naan was very soft and warm. I loved my overall experience. I have been there five times in November. Now they even know my name and my prefernces. Pros: Great Taste, Friendly Service, Festive Ambiance more
