BEWARE OF INCOMPLETE WORK!!! I took 2 cars here. Michael (mgr) was extremely nice and knowledgeable...but the rest of my experience was poor. I asked for a car inspection and oil change. They promised the car by the next day, Friday. They did not have it ready until Monday. Michael said they were short handed. They listed a few things wrong under the hood, and recommended a set of rotors and brake pads...thats it. I went to sell this car and the buyer took the car to her mechanic and the mechanic showed me rusted rear bushings, and the metal was literally chipping off as he scraped with his finger. Ice Cold Air completely missed this. I brought a second car there. They kept it there over night. I told Michael I had acceleration problems and the car vibrates when idle. Michael called the next day to say the car was ready. He told me to get new spark plugs and wires and that ALL of my engine mounts were bad. He said as a courtesy to me he wouldnt charge me for the inspection. Evidently this business works for free...NOT TRUE!!! The fact that they didnt charge me through up a red flag. I took this car to another mechanic for a second opinion. He found only 1 motor mount was cracked, and the others were in good condition. As far as the acceleration problems were concerned this mechanic did some work with the fuel injection system and performed an oil change. The car is no longer sluggish. I truly believe that Ice Cold Air didnt even inspect the 2nd car. Who works for free??? I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK TO THIS SHOP AND I RECOMMEND THAT IF YOU NEED A MECHANIC/SHOP YOU CAN TRUST... DONT GO HERE!!! more

Must be a new owner. I had good experiences there before. Both with an A/C Comp. and an alternator... But I knew things didn't work before I went in and what they were.... so here is why I say Stay Away!!!! ** Edit, after reading other reviews, maybe I was scammed on my A/C comp too as I had to pay to replace.. who knows...never again.\r \r I took my SUV in there when the Check Engine Light came on. They told me after paying $69 for the diagnosis that it would be about $800 to replace my Throttle body unit. I asked what would happen if I didn't do it now and was told ""it will fail and you will be stranded"". I asked if I could speak with the mechanic and was told no, that she was the owner.\r \r ****This was 6 months ago. My wife would not let me write this review until it was proven that I fixed the problem for $4.50.\r \r After leaving IC air I was leary and went to an Auto Store and they plugged in a Error Code Reader... or whatever it is called... FOR FREE!!!! They gave me the code and I googled it and posts came up saying I needed to clean my Throttle body... AutoZone sold me a cleaner for $4.50 and I used it and reset the Check engine light by disconnecting my battery> (as indicated in the user's manual) Problem was solved. Light is off, car idles perfectly and not a problem since. Over 6 months.\r \r If the mechanics at ICA do not know about this then what else do they not know.. Well I am SURE they did...and were .. well you know, so anyhow. If I had listenend to ICE COLD AIR on Dale Mabry I would have spent over $800.00 for a $4.50 problem... BTW I still paid them $69 for a diagnosis.. that was wrong!.\r \r Stay Away. more

Stay away from ICE COLD AIR 12/10/2010

On 11/16/2010 I took my VW Passat into Ice Cold Air for a leak on the valve cover gasket. Not one minutes after i picked the car up did it start smoking, so I called the mechanic (Gary) and he assured me it was just excess oil burning off the motor and to not worry about it. So i continued driving for another minutes when I called him back to tell him it was smoking worse. Again Gary assured me it was fine and if there were still problems the next day to bring it in, because he was already leaving for the day. Not 2 minutes after that phone call did smoke start pouring into the interior of the car. I couldnt roll the windows down because I lost power windows, steering & brakes. I got the car off the road just as all power died. I jumped out of the car and the entire front end of the car erupted into flames. \r \r The kicker is that they are saying they are not liable for the damages (its a total loss)!!!\r \r I have taken this car to the Ice Cold Air on Westshore and never had issues. But because I recently moved to a different part of town I couldnt take it there. I brought it to the one on Hillsborough ave and they proved to be very negligent in their repairs. \r \r I advise EVERYONE to stay as far away from Ice Cold Air as possible. They lie about the work they do, could care less about the concerns you bring up (especially while you are in the car) and obviously do shoddy work.\r \r STAY AWAY!! \r \r I went to the location at 7901 W. WOMEN BEWARE 1/22/2010

I went to the S. Dale Mabry location to get an oil change and they were very friendly ...to my face. As they are walking into the bay area, I hear one say to the other ""write down what you find wrong"" ... 30 minutes later I hear from the bay area ""I can't find a f-ing thing wrong"" ""I am telling you I can't find a thing wrong with this f-ing car"" - ""Maybe we should sell her new tires because the air is low"" Perhaps the f-ing mechanics should realize the ...""dumb"" girl has excellent hearing...and can change her OWN f-ing oil if she was so inclined! \r \r It makes me incredibly angry when men in certain service industries blatently take advantage of women because they THINK they are stupid. Please be cautious because the friendly smiles from the workers are because they think they can con you out of your hard earned money. more

Bad service! 9/8/2008

Do not visit Ice Cold Air in Tampa! I brought my car there for a simple Freon re-charge. It seemed great, but then I discovered that the A/C would not work at highway speeds. I brought it back, and they said the A/C Freon was over-charged. Then they asked if I had brought it to anyone else! At least they did the repair for free.\r \r \r \r more

I feel so relieved to have finaly found a car repair shop that is down to earth on their prices and one that does not try to sell me on repairs my car does not need. The repairs were done timely and for less than I was quoted somewhere else. Also, I realy appreciated the shuttle service to work and back-Thanks Ashley!. I went to the S.Dale Mabry location and plan use them from now on for all my auto repairs!\r \r Thank you so much!!! more

Do not go there 7/6/2005

Brought in a car for a routine serpentine belt replacement. First they broke the power steering pulley and told us it was already cracked (there was no oil or grease at any of the 4! breakpoints) so we had to pay for it. When we picked up the car it was idling awful so we brought it to TWO different garages who both told us that ICA had broken one of the fuel injectors. ICA refused to admit it and would not fix it. Do not go here for any reason. Our routine maintenance has been a grueling 2 week ordeal that has cost hundreds of dollars. Cons: Terrible Attitude, Incompetant, Rude more
