IKEA - affordable quality products 4/26/2006

This place is a frequent stop for me. I just love the home furnishings they have here. The best thing about this place is that everything they have looks great, lasts long, and is CHEAP. Forget sales and specials, even the regular priced stuff here is really inexpensive and very affordable. I come here often to get things stocked in the home, from kitchen utensils to floor mats to lamps for the kids rooms. It is a huge store and I always find something new here. Even my husband doesn't mind shopping here with me! more

Boon for new homeowners 4/16/2006

A one stop shop for getting all your household needs. I have shopped for a lot of my den furniture from here. They have computers which will help you in deciding furniture for a room. They also have an extensive collection of rugs, pantry liners, towels, curtains and a nice collection of crockery for daily use too. The cafe is great too for a quick bite more

Can't go wrong 4/1/2006

This store is so huge and has so much to see, you could easily spend the whole day in there and not see the same thing twice. It has everything, and I do mean everything. The selection cannot be matched by any other store. Only one problem with purchasing here, all of the items have to be put together, so if your'e not very good at that, you better find someone who is before you purchase. more

Ikea is a cool store 3/30/2006

While they have limited locations in the United States, if you are in a city where there is an Ikea, you should make a stop there. Some of the stuff is pretty cheap and you can tell, but other stuff is really great and worth buying. The stores are absolutely huge, and you will need at least a couple of hours in the store to go shopping. The one I went to had three levels that were enormous. They sell everything from furniture to clocks, to frames and photos. They also have food there that you can buy if you get hungry. more

New IKEA in the Southlands! 1/31/2006

This new IKEA offers all the selection of IKEA Schaumburg without the same crowds. I don't think there is as many showrooms available here, but this store gives you plenty to work with. Watch out for the impulse buys, like cheap batteries and linens. The kitchen section has some pretty nifty and affordable barware, and the frames and artwork section offers a big selection to choose from. Whether you're furnishing for the first time or are looking for a specific item, IKEA will easily eat up a Saturday afternoon. Don't forget to try some of their famous Swedish meatballs with ligonberry sauce. more

Affordable, stylish furniture for the upwardly mobile 1/27/2006

This new Ikea has all the pros and few of the cons most Ikeas are slammed with. Being new, the Schaumburg crowd is still mostly going there, so crowds aren't too bad in Bolingbrook. The café features fantastic prices for a hot lunch; and let's face it, lingonberries make everything better. Of particular note here is the As-Is Department. I have consistently found great bargains and really low prices on seemingly perfect items. If you're going for leisurely browsing, go here instead of Schaumburg. It might be smaller, but it's a LOT less crowded. more

It is finally here!!! 10/3/2005

I could not wait for this store to open!! If you are looking for anything for any room of your house, there is a good possibility you will find it at IKEA! They have everything! The prices are fairly low, depending on what you are looking for. The items are not assembled, which helps keep the prices lower. This also makes transportation much easier. The store itself is very interesting ... they have rooms set up to show you how different items would look or to give you ideas. Many of the larger items will have to be picked up on the bottom floor in the "warehouse" area. The store has two gigantic floors with many, many things to look at!! Also, returning items is very easy. So, when you do visit, make sure you have plenty of time to look around!! You will need it!! more
