I just bought my car from there. There was no pressure. Maybe because I knew what car I wanted and what I was willing to pay Everyone there was VERY Nice. Not pushy I did check out other cars I went to car dealers I also did my homework on line. I have to say i got the best car with the low miles from them with the warranty to go with it Yes I paid extra for this warranties but at least they offer it to you. I would go back there and I send my friends more

Great dealer, very accomodating 10/22/2007

After an extensive online search, I finally found the vehicle I was looking for at Husson Motors in Salem. It was a small used car lot with quite a variety of very clean used domestic and foreign vehicles. The salesman was very low pressure and treated me with respect. They worked hard to arrive at the price I was looking for, and they were more than fair with a price on my trade-in as well. The day I picked up my new vehicle, I noticed a problem with the gas gage. I drove it back to Husson immediately and they fixed it without question. A couple of days later they called me back to make sure that I was still happy with the car. In short, Husson is a small dealer that gives you the "big dealer" treatment. They have great service, quick and easy financing through a variety of reputable banks & credit unions, and excellent follow up. It was a great experience all-around and I would be happy to buy from them again. more

Scam artists 10/6/2006

I stopped in a few weeks ago to check out a truck that caught my eye. Fast talking sales guy....yep, they got one. Friendly...sure. Flattering....yep, he tried that on me, too. I visually looked the truck over and noticed a wet drip coming off the engine underneath. I said something about it, and he just laughed at me and said it was probably just water from the engine clean still drying. (yeah right) I insisted it wasn't water and he ran his hand to the "water" and show it to me...oil. He literally wasn't sure what to say. Of course, an oil leak of any nature isn't something I am interested in buying, so I left. Another part of our conversation was pretty interesting (before the oil episode) that I should share with you....when I told him I have a mechanic I trust and who does a thorough check on any vehicle I consider purchasing, the sales guy just laughed (again). He proceeded to tell me how he doesn't trust mechanics (except theirs, of course) and if I wanted to drive the truck to my mechanic (about 20 minutes away), he would have to come with me and my mechanic would have to allow him in the service bay while he does his inspection!! He certainly knows how to run customers away! more

Too slick and fast-talking for me 8/21/2005

My first stop while car-shopping last year was Husson Motors. It turned out to be a good experience, because it gave me a good place to negotiate with other dealers. As soon as they realize they don't have what you want, or are unwilling to sell if for your price, they immediately try to sell you something you don't want -- and usually for higher than your price. They "negotiate" with you by starting somewhere outrageous and ending somewhere too expensive, and then try to get a handshake out of you, almost hoping to guilt you into a deal -- especially if you allow them to take you on a test drive, they try to make that an obligation of some kind. I actually went back a couple times and test drove a couple vehicles. I insisted I wanted to pay cash, and they kept talking about financing -- anything to make the sale. I'm not saying you can't get a good deal there, just know what you want and what you're willing to pay, and stick to your guns. more
