I have never, in my life, had such a horrible renting experience. Please do not rent from these people. If you have maintenance issues, they will take days-weeks to fix it. Meanwhile, after 3 days of sitting in a hot house from a broken AC in the summertime, we finally called and threaten to call a lawyer as us and our Kindergarten aged child were covered in sweat and hour house had a temperature of 90 degrees! We went to work and him to school soaked in sweat and looking awful since anything I tried to do with my hair and makeup didn't stay due to sweating and the heat inside the house. And keep in mind this happened at least 5 times in 2 years. Why is it that it keeps breaking if you claim to have fixed it all the other times as well? Oh yeah, crappy maintenance men that have NO IDEA what the hell they're doing. And we cannot forget the walk through and deposit...even more hell!! They will mark every little dust speck with tape, take pictures, and then claim they need over $400 to clean your house that you know good and damn well you just cleaned. Its obvious they're out to swipe your money. They will charge $5 for a light bulb, and $10 for a battery. Are you kidding me? Talk about raping soldiers out of their money. Please, whatever you do, do not put yourself through what we went through! Its not worth it! more

These people may be fine for renters. However, they are HORRIBLE for property owners. Do NOT choose this company to manage your home/apartment if you must live out of town. They shorted me on rent multiple times for repairs that where made. I rarely learned until after the fact. ALWAYS the cost of the repair was WAY MORE than the estimate. I never felt valued by them. Again, DO NOT LET THEM TOUCH YOUR HOUSE!!!! more

Hunter Rentals is by far the worst rental company that has ever existed. They rent you a disgusting house and when you turn in the keys it is 12 million times better. However, they keep your deposit and they even charge you for other stuff when you move out. Not to mention their employees consist of the rudest people in the Killeen area. I would never recommend this company to anyone. more

I am a single mom and I rent from Hunter Rentals. About a week ago I locked myself out of my apartment around 10:00 at night. I called the Hunters after hours emergency line and the maintenance man came to my apartment very quickly. The man verified my ID and let me and my baby back into my home. It was really cold out and I was worried for me and my baby because I didn't have money to pay a lock man. I think Hunters is a nice company. I am glad I went with them as my rental company. more

Why do you feel like they are horrible. I moved out and got all my depsoit back with orders and I will rent from them again when I return. Your check out and rent must have been bad. I was soo scared after reading reviews, and then I realized that most of the people that post these are the ones with bad experiences. We lived in our house three years, we NEVER had a problem. When I gave them my notice, someone must have come by to check the condition of yard and house, and I got a notice about my yard. At first I was upset (we had lived there for so long with no problems), so I went in and talked to them. They took me in a room alone and listened to me, they were very kind and understanding of the situation I was in. more

I'm a property owner for the last 10 years and a past tenant for 3 years prior to that. I have NEVER had a problem with Hunter Rentals. It's very simple. As a tenant, pay attention to what you're signing up for and be meticulous during the inspection. If you have to sign the lease ""before"" you've seen the house, find another property manager. It's your own fault if you don't. As a tenant, they fixed stuff for me when it broke and not my fault. As an owner, when things were in need of repair, they repaired them and billed me. Of course, as in all organizations, there will be instances where there are disagreements. But, if HR is dealing with most others as they are with me, I'm certain they are a great organization. There's a reason they're still in business and thriving. more

My husband and I lived at one of the properties for four year. We didn't have any problems out of them. It seemed everytime I went in to pay my rent. There was different people in the office. We got all of our deposit back. Plus we had a dog. deposit. Little bit of advice. When ever you rent from anyone. Look at everything before signing the papers. Make sure there is good lighting so you can see every spot. When down everything on the pre walk though. Even if it's small. You know you will be charge for it later when you leave if not on that paper. When you leave. Make sure someone from the office does a final walk through(before handing over the keys). You know you will get charged for something that wasn't even there later. Make sure you keep that copy of the final walk through. Check over it before you sign it. If we get stationed at Hood again. I would have no problem renting from them again. Remember everyone has there own opinon and different problems. more

I went personally to the office a week ago and the staff were very friendly. When I called they were very helpful. Other companies were to busy to talk with us. I personally dont have any complaint about them. more

DO NOT Rent From This Company! 12/29/2010

As a matter of policy, they absolutely will not produce a receipt for your rental payment. Another policy is that they will enter the property at any time without prior notification (and they do). One property we were offered had mildew in the ceiling, another had urine and boogers on the walls. If you deploy, their policy states that they will not let you out of your lease. Overall a very poorly run business that does not show any concern for the renter, soldier, or basic standards of customer service. more
