Mplsgrl1820, She's gone, it's safe to come back in the water. Full disclosure, I work there and I can't disagree with your statement: ""I went in to purchase wine for a din...

Don't shop here 12/31/2010

Gross store, very uncleanly. INCREDIBLY RUDE STAFF. Don't ever ask them a question or they might find you annoying and refuse to serve you. The woman cashier I had was honestly one of the rudest people I have ever met. The selection if subpar and the prices are not worth it. There are plenty of other stores in the area, don't shop here. more

Rude and incompetent staff 11/8/2010

I avoid this place at all costs. Besides the fact that they have a terrible beer selection and high prices. Their staff was very rude to me and the owner/manager saw the whole thing and just laughed. Location doesn't mean anything when you are that bad at running a store. I'd give it half a star if I could. more

Smoke Filled Room 4/1/2008

Unless you plan on going home immediately and washing your clothes after a visit to Hum's, you might want to shop elsewhere. On the other hand, the prices are so high (Turning Leaf at nearly rouble the MGM price), you won't have money to wash your clothes, so stay away anyway. Smoking is not only permitted (perhaps encouraged) in violation of both Minnesota law and Minneapolis ordinance, it is so pervasive that I literally smelled of smoke (the bag in which the wine was placed also smelled). The clerk was smoking (not very sneakily) behind the counter, and clearly he and others had been smoking like chimneys all day for it to be so thick. Stay away unless you have a gas mask. more

An Uptown Institution 8/16/2005

The location is small, the selection shallow, yet Hum's will always carry a special place in the hearts of many that grew up in the South Minneapolis neighborhood. Maybe it was the central location on Hennepin, or the cool retro modern neon signage, or more likely the fact that they delivered pretty much anything you wanted, anytime of day. more

Local and Quick - That's It 8/5/2005

If you are looking for a local liquor store that is convenient and simple, then Hum's Liquor store is the location for you. The wine and beer selection is basically simple. Don't expect much. The staff is average but at least they help you get what you need and out the door. Again, don't expect much. And a special treat is that they deliver. The fact that they are right on Lyndale makes for a quick in and out, which is better than most other stores. more

Hums is small but Convenient 7/29/2005

Hums is located on a busy intersection of Lyndale. they are a smaller store, but have everything you'll need. Many wines, different liquors, and cold beer. They also deliver! The staff is knowledegeable and helpful. Great location and good prices. more
