HORRIBLE STORE! 7/13/2010

This place has a big selection of standard fish. I was extremely upset when I came across the tattooed mollies and the dyed parrot fish. The process they use to give these fish such color is horrible. Plus the color fades over time. Any respectable fish store would NEVER carry these fish. The prices are higher than other stores on just about everything. I drove almost two hours after seeing such great reviews but do not be fooled like i was. more

This place is like a mini-aqarium all its own. Their collection of saltwater fish are amazing! They have all kinds of corals, starfish, sea stars, seahorses, along with an amazing variety of other fish, and also about every fresh water fish you could think of, every plant, and a multitude of different foods for the fish. It's truly amazing, and the staff are knowledageble and nice. more

  • The House of Tropicals brings you top quality tropical fish at a reasonable price since 1967. We have over 750 aquariums holding well over 1,000 species, including many rare and unusual oddball fish. We specialize in the sale and maintenance of fresh water, salt water, and brackish fish tanks. We are area experts in tropical fish aquariums and we love to pass our knowledge on to fellow fish lovers. In addition to fish, we stock a wide and ever changing array of coral, crustaceans, and other invertebrates. House of Tropicals is an invert enthusiasts dream, with 16- 50-gallon aquariums of inverts with 2- 300 gallon coral tanks! We also carry plants, ornaments, live rock, aquariums, lights, and everything else you will need to create a beautiful aquatic environment in your home. Having such a wide variety of fish, coral, and inverts requires a wide variety of food. For live food, we stock Crayfish, Rosey Red Minnows, Guppies, Ghost Shrimp, Feeder Goldfish, DTs, Rotifers, and Reef Pods. House of Tropicals also stocks a large variety of frozen foods. At House of Tropicals, we dont just do fish. We are home to Marylands finest reptile room, with everything you need to raise snakes, reptiles, and amphibians. We also carry small mammals and rodents, like hamsters, guinea pigs, rats, ferrets, and mice (including feeders for the reptiles). Garden ponds are another of our specialties. We have been in the garden pond business since 1967. We sell garden pond fish and some aquatic pond plants (in season). We do not sell grass, seeds, trees, or shrubs, or landscaping. Fish are our business and we know our business. We carry the other pet supplies such as bird food and other small animal gear. We no longer have live birds and we do not carry dog and cat supplies. The House of Tropicals is family owned and operated, located in Glen Burnie, Maryland just off route 97. We are convenient to Annapolis, Baltimore, Severna Park, and Crofton, though we do have customers from Pennsylvania, Delaware, Washington D.C., and Virginia. If you like going to the Baltimore Aquarium, youll love our store. Bring the kids or bring a date. Stop in, the admission is free.
