Flavorless and RUDE 7/21/2011

I WISH THERE WERE NEGATIVE STARS SO I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE -5. The food here is unbelievably horrible. It is flavorless, tasteless, disagreeable, displeasing, distasteful, harsh, icky, nasty, rotten, sour, uncongenial, unlovely, unpalatable, unpleasing, unsavory, unwelcome, wicked, and just plain yucky. On top of that their portion of guacamole in an order of nachos w/ guac is unbelievably small, the guac portion is equal to the size of two tablespoons. And if ask for a little more they will literally laugh at you and turn their back to you. Very, very ignorant and rude staff. I will never, ever, ever return here and suggest you don’t either! more

Worst food in existence 3/11/2008

I gave this place three tries since it's right next to my office. The food is uber-bland. The taco meat has absolutely no seasoning. Ditto for the burrito meat. The hot sauce is watered down and they charge extra for it if you want to take some with you. I love mexican food and I want to like this place, but that's just not possible. Awful service with nothing to back it up. 5/2/2007

Three strikes and they are out. The servise is so awful and they don't even have good enough food to back it up! (at least the soup nazzi had good soup!) The grouch behind the counter tried to disuade me from adding tomatoes to my burrito. The second time they forgot to add something extra I paid for. The third time I lightly mentioned it . I just wanted a "sorry about that" but I was blatantly ignored and given an attitude. Frankly, the poor service and average food is not worth it. Loose the "i hate my life and everyone in it" people behind the counter and I would consider going back. Pros: Good location Cons: Awful service with below average food more

Great food for a great price 8/22/2005

II have been going to HT for three years and I have never had a bad experience. EVER! We all know that its Tex Mex and its cheap so if youre looking for real authentic Mexican youre looking at the wrong menu, but if you want something fast and tasty Hot Tamales is it. Go see for yourself, the line at noon is always out the door. I always have the chicken or beef taco salad with Jalape?os and hot sauce, absolutely fabulous. I now travel 20 minutes during my lunch hour to get that salad and I enjoy every bite. Mmm highly recommended! Pros: Fast , Tasty , Cheap Cons: Lines at Noon more

TASTELESS 5/8/2005

I have eaten at hot tamales more times than i would like to, and it has always been the same, absolutely and completely tasteless. Then it dawned on me... I ordered a bean burrito and asked for extra onions. Well... the server kindly informed me, "we don't have onions." Well, I ask you, what kind of mexican or texmex restaurant does not have onions???? That is strike one, other than that, their food is bland. Salsa's taste better out of a jar than the ones they serve, and their verion of "hot sauce" is nothing but the cheap stuff from the dollar store. So if you are looking for flavorless and bland "mexican" food, by all means eat at Hot Tamales. Pros: Prices Cons: Food more

Where's the beef? 12/8/2004

Against my better judgment, I've gone to this place 3 times now but I'm finished. The prices are cheap, however you get what you pay for. There is virtually no meat in the tacos, burritos or quesadillas they serve. Today a woman was at the counter complaining there was no beef in her chili or some other soup. They don't seem too concerned as there are often long lines here. I guess these people care more about price than quality. Don't waste your time! Pros: Cheap Cons: , No meat, Don't Go more

gross 7/28/2003

Totally gross. I got a basic chicken burrito, which consisted of wet, unmarinated chicken, a blob of sour cream, unmelted processed cheese, rice and salsa. It was cold on the inside, the chicken kept falling out in gross white chunks, and the kids behind the counter were too busy goofing off to hear my order the first time. Cheap, but nasty.
