I used to work for Hold It in San Diego a few years back, and the owner Mike was totally crazy. He was constantly stressing out, and had some very serious anger management issues. He was horrible to most of his employees (although he was always very nice to the females), constantly screaming and cussing at them, and just being a general jerk. Nobody liked him at all. What's funny is he actually told me before he hired me that he was having trouble keeping good employees around...Wow, I wonder why? LOL! That should have been a red flag for me right there!
Anyway, I'm sure there are plenty of disgruntled customers out there who have had to deal with this nutjob in the past, as his furniture is waaay overpriced, and is really just piss-poor quality MDF at that. You can find the same sh*t at Ikea for a fraction of the price! I remember how he would be talking on the phone to a customer in his office, then right after he'd hang up you could overhear him angrily cursing at that person every bad word he could think of. I'm surprised he hasn't gone off the deep end yet because I swear he was close to the edge back then, he really seemed ready to snap! He was one of the angriest people I have ever come across in my life. My advice, DON'T shop at Hold It unless you want sh*t furniture, poor customer service, or enjoy dealing with a loony, angry furniture store owner!
