Nice Location but Lackluster Rooms & Poor Service 2/16/2011

I stayed here frequently while working on a local project. While a great location - walking distance to the capital - with great views of Lake Monona, I was repeatedly disappointed by the very small and dated rooms and extremely poor service. more

ok, so madison is pretty chill and has lots of hippies and not enough swank most of the time. But if you want to do it up fancy, this is the ONLY place in madison to do it. Views of the capitol or the lake, walking distance to pretty much everything that visitors want to see (farmers market, state street, convention center, capitol, UW union terrace, both lakes, etc). You can easily taxi it from the airport or park and never have to drive during your entire visit. The most upscale hotel Madison has to offer (which is a bit sad, but it is pretty nice) Madison's best restaurants are in wlaking disctance too (L'etiole, Magnus, Tornado) as far as fancy, great food and spending your money goes more
