I went to High Tech Institute in the hopes of enrolling in their Medical Assisting Program...but I allowed them to talk me into going into their Dental Assisting Program...MY MISTAKE! I just wanted to be in the "medical" field, in any capacity..while I worked my way through nursing school.
Fortunately for me, I found Concorde Career Institute in Arlington that offered an LVN program...and they had just recently started an 18 -month night program for vocational nursing!!
I withdrew from High Tech BEFORE classes had even started, and enrolled at Concorde.
I was given a VERY hard time about withdrawing from their program.
A good friend of mine is attending classes at High Tech in the dental assisting program...and is VERY happy with her choice.
I just want to warn others that you need to have your mind set on what you are wanting to achieve as far as an education before you talk to any school!
As I have been writing this post, I have done a lot of thinking.....maybe High Tech did me a favor by talking me out of the M.A. program, and into their D.A. program...because of the doubts that I had about my happiness in the dental field......I found Concorde Career Institute and am thrilled beyond belief at finally being able to achieve my goal of becoming a nurse!
