I set up an appointment for me and my son. I went in and filled out paperwork and gave them my insurance cards. They charged me my copay, and paid that without complaining. The receptionist could have told me before my appointment started that I would have to pay more because of my insurance deductible. I waited for the doctor for 20 minutes and I went though the appointment. My hips felt worse than when I went in and I had trouble sleeping that night. The receptionist then told me after my appointment was done that I would have to pay more. I felt taken advantage of and wouldn't have gone though the appointment if I would have known about the extra charges. When I received the information from the insurance company, I called High Desert Chiropractic and Wellness to try to understand why I was told at the end of the appointment about the extra charges. The receptionist told me that she had explained the charges at the time of the appointment. I explained that if I had been told before the appointment, I would have left. I told her that because she told me at the end of the appointment, I had no choice but to pay the extra charges. It is the responsibility of each business to explain to their customers what the charges are and what you will receive before the appointment. They waited until after the appointment was finished. I will not go back, I will warn people about this company and advise them not to go.
