I am a repeat customer whose family has purchased several cars from this ""business."" I will never again give a dime of my money to Helmrich Towing.
I spotted an SUV I was interested in early last week, so I stopped in and inquired. Jim Vassey informed me this vehicle was $3000, but said he had to charge the AC before selling it. I told him I'd check my finances and get back to him. This was Tuesday.
I got the cash and stopped in Wednesday... Thursday... Friday. He wasn't there any of these days, though I was back two and three times a day because another employee (who is not authorized to do anything, such as allow test drives or sell cars) said Jim would be back at certain times (he never was), and I asked him to pass on the messages that I was there, had the cash, and wanted to test drive the vehicle.
Finally, I heard back from Jim. He called me Friday and said he was going away but would definitely be at his shop Monday. I drove over again, now for the seventh time in less than a week, bright and early Monday morning.
Guess what. He was not there and was not going to be there all day, but the other employee was. He was still not authorized to allow me to test drive the SUV, but I checked it out for about an hour, checking under the hood and whatnot. (The AC was still not charged, by the way.) We told this guy we'd be back AGAIN the next day, and again, mentioned we had the cash for the SUV.
I arrived first thing Tuesday morning, and the SUV had been sold minutes before. After wasting seven trips back and forth to this jackass, he sold the vehicle I wanted. Though he has no obligation to hold anything for anyone, he should probably show up to his business when he says he'll be there instead of wasting my time for a week straight.
