Excellent practice in my experience 4/17/2008

I am pretty surprised by the negative reviews of this place. I have been there about a half a dozen times so far to get minor hormonal acne treated with cortisone shots & get topical treatments. I see the Physician's Assistant there, Julie Carson, and ALWAYS have been given appointments for either the day I call or the next. I have always wanted a relationship with a dermo office like this, and I finally have it. The staff is always extremely efficient and friendly, the assistants are great, the phone service is excellent. The first time I was there the office was standing room only and I got a little nervous, but I didn't wait very long to see Julie. It is true the doctor is in very high demand, but waiting is the price you pay for that sort of thing. I have never had an appointment with the doctor so I can't speak to her manner. They have never once tried to sell me anything. I would go there for more serious treatment in a heartbeat. Pros: Diverse staff, overall efficient and friendly support staff Cons: potential moderate wait. more

Never go there again 3/2/2008

I went to see Dr. Tylor twice and I didn't feel like people there really cared about me. It seems like they are always in a hurry every time and didn't have the patient to learn more about my situation. Maybe she is too famous so she is always too busy. One time they even had to postpone my appointment one day before the appointment because Dr. Tylor was not available for the appointment. I made the appointment few weeks ago.\r \r Anyway, I have to agree with most of people here. I don't feel like they ever care about patients. I would never want to waste my money and time ever again. more

Bad Experience, not caring, moves too fast 1/14/2008

You know how when you go to a doctors office you want to feel like the doctor really cares about you. This is not what it feel like when you go to this office. You feel like a number and that they want to go through a lot of people as fast as they can. I will not go back and already found another dermatologist that I like much better. You want a good feeling when you have left the office and I did not have that good feeling at Society Hill dermatology Pros: Good Location Cons: Didn't feel they cared about me more

Be aware if you have non-cosmetic skin concerns and you are Caucasian! 1/4/2008

Someone should warn you when making the appointment that this office focuses mainly on cosmetic skin concerns... and specifically for African-American skin. Very frustrating when you've paid the co-pay, taken time out of your day and afterwards have to make an appointment with a more clinically-focused office to have your issues addressed. Pros: Perhaps very good at specialized skincare for dark skin types? Cons: Waste of time if you're not more

I did not get better. I was rushed through visit 12/14/2007

I went for acne. Saw the doctor for about 1 minute. They were very into selling ""acne products"". The assistent, not the dermatogist spent most of the time with me. I bought, products and used them and I got worse over the next 4 weeks. I called the office but I guess the doctor was to busy to talk to me and the ""nurse??"" told me to keep using the stuff. Finally, I went to my family doctor and he took me off all the stuff ( He called it junk ----cleanser, lotion). He put me on one prescipton medicine and now a couple months later I was clear. I wasted my time. Pros: Don' t know Cons: wasted my time more

Lazy, unorganized office staff. Doctor cares only about promoting herself and making money off of us 5/29/2007

DO NOT SEE DR. TAYLOR OR ANYONE IN HER OFFICE!\r \r \r When I called to make an appointment, her office staff put me on hold for 5 minutes EVERY time for no reason. I know this because whenever I was in the office waiting to be seen, the office staff would answer the phone ""Dr. Taylor's office, please hold"" and then resume their trivial conversation amongst each other. They have since installed an answering service to completely avoid customers and call them back the next day or later. HOW INEFFICIENT AND UNFRIENDLY!\r \r \r When I finally saw Dr. Taylor, we met for 2 minutes. When I saw her Physician's assistant, she started the conversation off by telling me what other services (microderm abrasion, etc) that the office is capable of doing. All they want to do is profit from you. \r \r \r Dr. Taylor is reknowned and yadda yadda yadda but she does not care for her patients. She only cares about gaining press. \r \r \r \r STAY AWAY! more

A total waste of time and money! 2/1/2007

Very disappointing encounter!\r \r I thought it would be a great experience as she?s a black dermatologist. Boy was I horribly mistaken. \r \r I waited 2 long hours before I was taken to a room for the consult. Waited there another 15 minutes or so before she came in, briefly touched my hair, and then went on to tell me about the products being sold in her office. \r \r She was in the room with me for all of 3 minutes (and I?m being generous)! She cut me off as I tried to explain my condition to her, and then said she was going to get me some samples. I never saw her again! I wasn?t even done telling her what the issue was yet she proceeded to write me a prescription! How ill-advised! I thought she was coming back with the samples but 5 minutes later, an assistant came in and told me I was done! 3 minutes! Most of which was spent trying to sell me products. This after I?d paid $120 to see her, and on top of that, waited 2 measly hours. Furthermore, she tried to sell me some shampoo and conditioner which were marked up to twice what the manufacturer charges on his website!\r \r As another reviewer rightly mentioned, she is running a mill!\r \r I will never go back to her. She is certainly not up to scratch! Pros: None! Cons: LONG wait time. Rushed and inadequate consult! more

not interested in me. RUSHED. 7/18/2006

rushed, overcrowded, long wait, she didn't help me. Another dermatologist much better and helped me right away. She is running a mill. Pros: there were none Cons: thumbs down more

too overwhelmed 5/11/2006

my experience with dr. taylor was disappointing...i was there to be evaluated for two procedures but instead she handed me a bunch of brochures and wrote the prices on the booklets...we spent about ten minutes together...she was more concerned with delivering pricing than explaining the pros and cons of the procedures....her office was jammed with patiences and i think that impacted heavily with her ability to provide quality service... Pros: black dermatologist Cons: read the review more
