Our outpatient staff consists of highly qualified professionals from a variety of health care fields. These include physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, athletic trainers, occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, and speech therapists. This allows patients the opportunity to work with clinicians with specific knowledge and skills to best treat their individual injuries.. Sports Medicine Team - High Plains Sports Medicine: This team is composed of physical therapists,physical therapy assistants,and athletic trainers who focus on treating musculoskeletal injuries,post-operative rehabilitation,sports and recreational injuries,and joint replacements. General Orthopaedic Team: This team is composed of physical therapists,physical therapy assistants who treat patients with musculoskeletal disorders,arthritis,joint replacements,amputations,myofacial pain and chronic pain disorders,and some neurologic conditions including strokes. Hand Care Team: This team is composed of occupational therapists,certified hand therapist,and an occupational therapy assistant who specialize in custom splinting and rehabilitation of hand,elbow and shoulder injuries. This team is directed by hand surgeons Dr. Robert Bassett,M.D. and Dr Alex DeCarvalho M.D.,together providing rehab for fractures,pain disorders,tendonitis,arthritis,fibromyalgia and post-surgical repairs. Neurological Team: This team is multidisciplinary and comprised of occupational therapists,physical therapists,an occupational therapy assistant,a physical therapy assistant and speech language pathologists. Therapists working on this team assist clients in rehabilitation from conditions such as stroke,spinal cord injuries,multiple sclerosis,Parkinson's disease,low vision,cerebral palsy,vertigo and other balance/vestibular disorders.
