I went to Haru's for the first time this afternoon for a lunch outing with my work group. I had never eaten at Haru's, but the reviews online were favorable. After dining there for lunch I would have to say that most of what I read was right on track, but there were a couple of items that will probably keep me from eating there again. I ordered the steak and scallops off of the lunch menu for $14.95. The scallops portion of the meal was excellent. The scallops were large, juicy, and prepared to perfection. The steak portion, however, was another story. The small ragged piece of steak that was served to me was very tough, fatty, and ill-prepared. I ordered it medium-rare and it was served well to well-done. I considered complaining, but didn't want to make a scene with my entire work team present. The portions of the entree items were rather small as well for the price. They serve you a ton of rice and vegetables to make the plate look really full, but the actual steak and scallops was pretty small. In my opinion, there are many better choices in town for this type of fare, and I will not be returning to this restaurant in the future.
Pros: No wait for a table
Cons: Pricey and entree portions were small and overcooked
