Editorial review from GrubHub 12/16/2013

Terrible, Terrible, TERRIBLE. Ordered a Spinach & Feta Quesadilla. It came with a pound of spinach and 3 or 4 pieces of Feta cheese. it was soggy and disgusting. Did not eat it. Called to complain and let them know I wanted a refund, and the manager told me she was going to send a delivery guy to my house to pick it up after I already told her I threw it out. I dont need to be called a liar. I even offered to take a picture and send it to show her the mountain of disgustingness and she insisted on wasting another HOUR of my life to send someone over, with new food. I am not even hungry after seeing this sloppy, gross mess. Will never bother with this place again. more

one of my favorites 8/22/2010

i don't know what the other reviewers are talking about! i've been coming here for years and i've never been disappointed! sure you can find better Mexican food elsewhere, but for the location, quick service and moderate prices, i come here. i took my boyfriend here for the first time a few years ago and he can be extremely picky about his food, but this quickly became one of his favorites too! his chicken burrito was served hot and tender and his water glass was filled promptly- just the way he likes it! my favorites are the house salad and shrimp enchilada- a whole juicy shrimp in every bite! try it. if you hate it, then it'll just be another restaurant on your list never to go to ever again (and we all have those). more

gross 2/2/2010

so gross Pros: if you like nasty food Cons: terrible service more

Hopeless - better off with street meat... 1/31/2010

Harry's is very hit or miss on their food (and they miss bad frequently). It is very poor value. It doesn't pretend to be authentic Mexican -- if you want that on the UWS, go to the Super Taco truck on 96th and Bway. Harry's delivery service is utterly hopeless. We've ordered from there (shows how dumb we are) 8 times in the last yr and they've fouled up the order 50% of the time in some way, but tonite literally took the cake -- screwed up 3 of 4 dishes and left the drinks out and then it took me 15 minutes on the phone to fix it with them. And the soup was so awful it was inedible. Pros: Hit or Miss Food Cons: Expensive for the mediocre food; delivery service is patheti more

You Get What You Pay For 5/27/2009

You can go a few blocks and get better Mexican food at Chipotle. Or go literally around the corner to Santa Fe for better food and much better drinks. Harry's is alright if you're just looking for something cheap, although all the times I've been there I always end up waiting for what seems like an impossibly long time for my food to arrive. And when it does, it's always just OK. I keep going back because it's really cheap, but you get what you pay for I guess. The people who work there are really nice, and they have outdoor seating, but those are the only positive things about this place. Pros: Cheap, patio seating Cons: Bad margaritas, slow service more

spoiled food 7/6/2008

I had an enchilada and the salsa fresca with chips. Both dishes tasted spoiled! I hope I'm not sick in the morning! more

4 stars for what it is 4/2/2008

After reading some older reviews of this place, I am glad to see that they clearly made an effort to beef-up the service. I have been here twice, and the service was quick, friendly, and perfectly on point. We were not rushed, but were able to get the check and leave as soon as we were ready. The menu is pretty inclusive, I'm a vegan and their are several items I can order without fuss. There is a whole vegetarian section, and even a non-dairy burrito! I haven't had the drinks, but my boyfriend really enjoyed the frozen margaritas. With chips and salsa, 2 entrees and 2 drinks are bill was barely $30! The food is good, not great, but if you want something simple, fresh and satisfying it fits the bill at a great price. The place is noisy and at dinner time crowded. It's not an intimate or romantic atmosphere, but great for groups or people trying to grab a quick casual bite. Pros: Service, price Cons: crammed atmosphere, noisy more

Worst chips and salsa in NYC, rest is just as bad 12/30/2007

Boring, bland, tired. I have had better chips and salsa from 7-Eleven - honestly. My burrito was soaking wet with some... thing. Not sure what. The bottom fell off after my first bite, so I had to use a fork and knife to rescue the rest from the pool of ""burrito juice"" in my plate. What a waste of a perfect location. Pros: Location is great Cons: Terrible food more

Awesome Happy Hours ---- Subpar food. 10/21/2007

I love to come here and drink. The drinks are really cheap. However, the burrito was ok. There wasn't anything special about it---which is fine. However, the prices are ridulous. Oh. The staff are awesome. Travis the bartender is awesome! Pros: drinks Cons: price of food more

A pleasant surprise 9/29/2007

After reading some of the reviews here, I was a little apprehensive about going here with friends, but they had set it up and I figured, what the hey, it couldn't be all that bad to still be in business.\r I was greatly surprised by both the service and the food. I've been to Mexican restaurants around the country, and this has to be one of the best. The food was excellent and the service outstanding.\r I would recommend Harry's to everybody. more

What? 5/31/2006

What are these reviews talking about? I ate here two nights ago. Food good, service good. Hostess was funny and sweet despite a big crowd. Cute too. Good experience overall. Eat here. more

Good Food - HORRIBLE hostess - Average Service 8/23/2005

I thought this place look like a fun spot to grab a bite to eat while visiting the city. I walk in ask to take a look a the menu and was greeted by the a nasty not so passive aggressive hostess. It seemed like it offended her for someone to ask to review the menu - then she acted as if she was busy when I decided to stay. Not for anything but, food can be lousy but SERVICE has to be top rate for me to come back. It was the lowest point of my city visit. more

Bad service, mediocre food 8/9/2005

Food was average, service was lousy and the atmosphere awful (even for a burrito joint). I would never eat here again. more

Worst service in the city! 7/8/2005

The hostess & manager are rude and the staff is clueless. First, the hostess & manager would not seat my boyfriend until I arrived and there were many open tables. He said he'd order while he waited for me, but they refused to seat him. What if someone came in to dine solo? Would they be turned away? Waitress took FOREVER to take our drink order (it was not crowded) and she forgot our chips & guac. We had to remind her and she was not apologetic. When the food came it was below average and they got my boyfriend's order wrong. His burrito was served with home fries on the side (WHAT?!?!) and the tortilla was flour when he specifically requested whole wheat. Needless to say, they did not correct their mistakes and barely apologized. That is why we left a $5 tip on a $50 tab :) more

A perfect place if you're looking for horrid service, overpriced fare, and 2 hour delivery times. Anything else is better. more
