8 years going in, have bought belts, parts, serviced our tractor, bought weed whacker, chain saw, Father in law just bought new Cub Cadet, Cousin bought used Mower a year ago both sons go in for parts neighbors go in friends etc, because we recommended this place. I took a stretched deck belt in and asked to replace it. Thay needed my mower serial and model # so I went back home, got it, I took back the stretched belt and told them wanted exact same one as we use heavy duty one. he brings out a Blue belt which was not the same but said it was just a different mfg but same measurements. It was about 2"" smaller so I said I guess it has to be smaller cause this one is stretched. Took it home struggled to put it on, turned on tractor , mower blade ran in the off position. Called Harrington, Sat they were closing, told them belt was too tight, was bringing it back Mon, took back belt brought the old one along again with the mfg model and serial # He goes gets another belt only 1: shorter this time wants to charge me 45.00 more. I already paid 35.00. Well I said ""no I am exchanging this one"" He said ""you want me to take this belt back? So if I re sold this belt to you you would not be upset, it has frey marks on it, it is a used belt!"" I said, ok, but you sold it to me, it was the wrong belt. I gave you the correct information and the old belt! You are supposed to be the professionals here not me! He said well you wanted it to be shorter than the old one"" I said I told you my old one was stretched but the mower still ran but not as good! He said"" all I can do is give you a little money off this new belt, why should we have to eat this one?"" I told him you should have to because you made the mistake, I am a good customer, my father in law came here because of me and bought a new tractor as well as my cousins and sons and friends all come here. I think I have been a very good customer! He said "" well that is all I am willing to do"" I said so you are willing to let me walk out the door and lose my business along with others? You do not value my business after all these years over a stupid belt? He said "" Its the best I am gonna do"" I told him that made me sad and that I will not be coming bac and will lket everyone I knw as well as facebook know about his poor business practices, He said ""ok"" He left me walk, my husband told me that we will never go back and already others have said the same. I believe in customer service and in todays economy when we try to patronize local businesses and we get this kind of treatment in our face after years of spending our hard earn money there, it makes Wal Mart Lowes and Home Depot look like the best option. So that is where we are all going and so long local business. Our money is no longer good in your store, good luck! Anyone reading this I hope you re-consider using this store simply because we are good honest hard working people and wanted to be treated fairly and as if our business meant something to this store, apparently not! All over a stupid belt!
