Happy Palace Restaurant

This place has got to be a front for something, because no restaurant can get by selling food like this. I couldn't believe that a chinese restaurant couldn't 'even cook rice properly. The food was terrible. The only thing I commend is that the waitress was really nice. She offered us free ""specials"" on the house (shrimp spring rolls). I was suspicious, as there was a big sign outside that read ""shrimp clearance"" for like 3 months. Pros: Service.... maybe more

Stopped in for takeout on a whim. This place was not quite what I expected. One half of the building is the bar area, and the other half is the...brightly lit, largely empty other bar area? I believe the whole place is over-21 only. In the middle of the room two regulars sat at the lone table (there are booths against the window however, next to a pool table) watching TV, eating what looked like hamburgers. Neighborhood folk drifted between the rooms, bottles of Bud in hand. A sign promised Karaoke on Thursday. Two men entered, hovered near the pool table for a minute, then left. My (standard cheap Chinese) food was ready so I left, wondering what the remainder of the night had in store for the Happy Palace. Pros: Cheap Cons: Kind of scary more
