Horrible, horrible service 9/30/2010

The absolute arrogance is abhorant.... Ordered from them and they completely forgot about it.... Kept me waiting... The excuse was that they were too busy... The restaurant was pretty much empty... There are other sushi places like Koo in Rye that I would recommend.... Avoid this place more

Great sushi in Westchester 12/30/2006

Dinner here was great. I usually go to a sushi place in New Rochelle, which is pretty good for the area, but Hajime's sushi/sashimi platter was delicious. I got the Yakitori appetizer, which was pretty good, even though it was drowning in sauce. I got the the udon as well and that was great too. I had one person who thought it was a little salty. Overall, I enjoyed the food. The service was pretty good, though we managed to go there before the dinner crowd showed up. Pros: fresh fish more

Best Japanese Restaurant in Westchester 6/21/2005

This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend (we are both Japanese) after another great Japanese restaurant in Westchester changed hands and I was looking for a good replacement. The food is great (try toro taru-taru from the appetizer menu) and their sushi is fresh. They have made sushi for me that don't appear on the menu on request. I also recommend the nabe yaki udon, which has sadly morphed into something else in many less-than-authentic Japanese restaurants in the area. The service was only average on one occasion, but it was great the last time. When I don't want to travel all the way into Manhattan, this is where I go. It is obvious from the exchanges between the sushi bar chef and people who sit there that there are lots of regulars, Japanese or otherwise. Pros: authentic, good sushi more
