Haehl, William D, Md - Shelby County Family Medicine

First - Please do not pay attention to the 2008 review in regards to Dr. George!! The office there seems to be the issue, Not Dr. George. Dr. George has since opened his own practice in Greenwood, Indiana, it is called Elite Family Health. (Admin - please take note!) I truly have never had such an incredible doctor/patient relationship with any doctor, and I grew up with my mother working in a small healthcare setting. Dr. George finally helped me get to the root of my headaches I'd been suffering daily for over a year, opening up the door for me to trust him with other issues I had previously preferred to ignore. I also adore the girls that work in the office, Jessica & Rainbow. They are wonderful and make me feel right at home, as does Dr. George. It is easy to get an appointment. Actually, Dr. George himself is almost unbelievably easy to contact and speak to as well. That is something that always seemed impossible with any other practice. If I call him at 7am having a meltdown over something, he calls me right back, and makes time for me as soon as the office opens. I have also never had any doctor spend as much with time with me at an appointment as he has, he will listen as long as necessary! I will never take my personal health/business anywhere else as long as he is working! I recommend Dr. George to all of my family and friends, even though most of us live over an hour from his office. (I followed him from Shelbyville to Greenwood.) I just cannot sing his praises loud enough. more

My whole family have gone to Shelby County Family Medicine for years. And, over the years we have overlooked a LOT of RUDE and HATEFUL treatment from the people up front at the window,people over the phone, etc. ( Now,I am not saying all of them are rude......but,SEVERAL are!! The ones that are rude aren't just rude and hateful to people who are rude to them....I have been there on several occasions where someone goes up to the window to sign in and give insurance cards and be as nice as nice can be and the girls( especially Nicki) behind the desk act like they'd rather eat glass , than talk to you or deal with you.( GET ANOTHER JOB....ONE WHERE YOU DON'T DEAL WITH PEOPLE ,IF YOU HATE THEM THAT MUCH!!) But, I have also noticed how Dr. George treats people as if they are stupid,he's rude, and basically says everything is fine ...my son said he thinks he's like a "" band -aid doctor."" My kids HATE going there...but, there really aren't many options for around Shelbyville. I always give people the benefit of the doubt...you know...maybe they are having a bad day...maybe they don't feel well etc.......but, for goodness sakes they must have a LOT of bad days..if that's the case. There is NO EXCUSE FOR THE TREATMENT YOU GET WHEN YOU GO THERE. You are just shoved in and out like cattle and nobody cares how you feel or how THEY make you feel. At this point I don't care if I have to drive further away as long as we can be treated like human beings. I just can't get over them. I would NOT take MY MOTHER there...or anyone else from now on. Pros: Seeing another doctor Cons: You still have to deal with the girls up front if you do see another doctor. more
