The first place I ever smoked a cigar was at the Habana House. It was so relaxing and friendly that I refuse to go anywhere else. They have great events at the shop, and will have on on October 29, so be sure to stop by for a great time. more

This is the friendliest and most laid-back cigar shop in town. You can go in, buy a cigar and sit down and enjoy it without having to pay an expensive membership fee, like some other shops in Austin. It can be your first time in the store and the staff and the customers will treat you like an old friend. I usually make two to three trips a week to the store to relax and unwind. more

When you walk into Habana House (located inside Ruta Maya) you feel as if you've been transported to Cuba. The wonderful aromas of premium cigars and the friendly atmosphere are very inviting and relaxing. The walk-in humidor is stocked with so many excellent cigars, it's hard to make a choice. We always walk out with at least 10! And, if you can't make up your mind, or if you're shopping for a gift, Jim and Abdul are experts at recommending a fine smoke. It's also a great place to hang out and enjoy smoking a cigar. So friendly and relaxing you'll want to stay for hours. more

Habana House Tobacconists has the most knowledgeable cigar guys in town. Mark Foster, one of the original Wiggy's tobacconists dating back to the '80s, Mitch Diaz, ""the smoking pope,"" co-founder and former owner of the original Ruta Maya Tobacco in the Warehouse District (1994), Drew Howard, as book smart about cigars as he is subjectively experienced, and James Steiner--a kid with an insatiable habit, round out the cigar team. The humidor, backed by the inventories of M&R wholesale--one of the biggest wholesalers of cigars in the Southwest, and locally owned by the same owners of Habana--has everything, except cubans of course, the cigar smoker can imagine. The shop is also loaded with a full line of assessories to fit every budget. They also carry fine tobacco and pipe and pipe tobaccos too. And you'll never experience pretention from the staff or regulars their either, just thoughtful, informative help. \r \r Additionally, Habana House enjoys co-habitating with Ruta Maya International Coffee Headquarters, which in addition to pastries and sandwiches, offer a fine line of coffees, wines, and beers--all of which is welcome in the comfortable setting of the smoke shop, allowing for real enjoyment of your stogie, while you enjoy a cold beverage, good company, and perhaps a game on the flat screen TV or perhaps some recorded or even LIVE music.
