I would caution the lack of choice outside the group health system. If you have a cancer that needs specialist or clinical trials then you are limited to what group health offers...

April 1997, I awoke to my mother frantically calling me for help. My father was stumbling and couldn't walk. We rushed him to GH Urgent care where he was,diagnosed as having an inner ear infection.Despite family concerns that this was CLEARLY not an ear infection. After 4 days and having seen three Group Health Physicians he was again told he had an ear infection. 4 days later, a NON GHC Dr. At the ER Diagnosed him as having had a massive stroke on Saturday (the day he woke up unable to walk)...By the time he was properly diagnosed and in the stroke recovery unit at St. Joseph's Hosp, my father had lost ALL his faculties,and basically spent the next several months learning everything over again from basic infancy. more

The worst health care 10/28/2012

We have been with GHC for over 10 years. Last year my wife was misdiagnosis for a polyp in her gallbladder and the organ was removed. It turned out only a piece of cholesterol was there. This August I had rectal breeding after a one minute rectal scope check doctor failed to find the source of blood and I was charged $250 for outpatient surgery! I had severe dry eye syndrome, doctor put permanent plugs into my tear ducts last November. After finding they were gone doctor put new plugs in on 9-17-12. After one week of irritation one of the plugs was gone again. On 9-24-12 a ophthalmologist put a temporary plug in with the reason that permanent plug does not fit Asian people! This plug dropped out within 30 minute after I left the clinic! Unlike any other service area there is NO warranty in GHC services -- I have been required to pay huge copays on doctor's remedies for their own failed procedures! Stay away from GHC if you want a quality care. more

Great urgent care, abysmal care at Factoria 10/16/2011

After missing my mothers cancer, misdiagnosing my husbands gallbladder ailment, misdiagnosing my rotator cuff, losing my sisters 10 year history records, and injecting me with the wrong allergy serum, I can only say, STAY AWAY from Factoria Group Health! more

We have been GHC members since 1967, through two childbirths and various illnesses. After years of excellent health I have recently had cause to deal with four doctors and many nurses and assisting personnel at our Lynnwood Medical Center and at the Bellevue Medical Center. I have been extremely impressed with the quality of diagnoses and treatments that I have received, and, equally important to me, moved beyond words by the respectful and attentive service that I have received from EVERY person who has worked with me. Appointments have taken place right at the time that they were scheduled, the facilities are immaculately clean, my concerns have been heard and my input sought, the explanations that have been given to me of treatment options has been thorough, I have never once felt hurried. I only wish that every sector of our economy offered as fine of service as I have received over the past several months! more this GH? 6/15/2011

Based on previous reviews, I am stumped. I took DH in due to shortness of breath- he was seen within 2 minutes. EKG and bloodwork done right away. The doc on call was one of the best I have ever encountered in an ER. Consulted with the cardiologist before diagnosis. We were back within 24 hrs due to breathing issues while trying to sleep. This doc was just as good as the one previously and reran all the tests just to make sure nothing had changed due to meds. Another consult with the cardiologist- an additional med then monitoring until stable before release. When we arrived home, DH checked his online account for test results and found a private message from his primary care doc - offering to help in anyway. Another message from his cardiologist asking him to call ASAP for a follow up in office. We are self employed and have NEVER had this high level of care through any private doc. more

CAUTION! 4/15/2011

If you have options to seek medical attention elsewhere, save yourself the time and prolonged life and stay away from Group health. The Dr.s never seem to know anything. They hand out false info. They misdiagnose. They dont care! They are cheap and tell you the ONLY alternatives, later to find out that they are just trying to save money. more

BAD CARE 4/15/2011

My mom has been with Group Death for the last 10 years and cant seem to get anyone else. Now that she retires, she is stuck with the worst medical care in the world. Group Health should be shut down. more

everytime my mom goes to for her yearly checkup, she seems to have a new DR. Why?? 1 dr takes her off her meds and says she doesnt need to be on them.....she is diabetic they say. The next time she goes in, another new dr. He/she wants to know why she is not on meds and why did they take her off, then puts her back on again. EVERY SINGLE TIME SHE GOES THROUGH THIS!!!! more

HORRIBLE Urgent care 12/20/2010

sick for the last 14days with FLU like condition.. spoke to consulting nurse 2 times 12/6 & 12/19 finally told to go to Urgent care as potentially more serious issue after waiting 90+ mins in exam room, layed down on floor (like I had fainted) took nurse 20mins to discover me (door was open to hallway with nurse/doctors passing by) finally after 120mins (2+ hours) left without seeing anyone -called family doctor told 7 days min to get an appointment. - when I complained was told only 1 doctor on staff currently (bellevue GH Hospital urgent care) more

The best care, the best choice 5/24/2010

I have had a few health concerns that have showed how well GHC works. I have not had to repeatedly fill out forms. Their online link to docs, appts, info, medical records and reviews of office calls is all right on. I have emailed my doc and received responses that have eliminated the need for an office visit. The consulting nurse hotline has been invaluable. Being able to get care or advice 24/7. Your choice of docs is really good. You can not only chose between GHC docs (which are the best anyway) or depending on the plan that you belong to may also chose docs not at GHC. There is little time spent in waiting in docs offices etc. The docs spend the time with you to make sure you are taken care of. more

Stay AWAY! 10/23/2008

GH must change their name to GROUP DEAD. My father in law was misdiagnozed on his cancer. Doctors and service are horrible, there are no specialist in any fields and the certifications are all fake! If you or your loved ones want to stay alive then stay way from Group Dead!!! more

Beware 10/21/2008

I was with GHC for 17 years and am so glad I finally got out. It was so easy to just stay because of convenience and great prices, but the quality is terrible. Me and my children were misdiagnosed almost everytime we went in. I became an online doctor trying to diagnose everything from rashs, pnemonia, apnea, fibroids,and more. I had two surgeries within a year of leaving them once I saw real doctors who instantly diagnosed easy things that shouldn't have been missed. Stay Away more

Cutting edge treatments are also limited. These issues aren't to be taken lightly if you or someone you love find themselves with a hard to treat disease. more

Service that consistently improves over time 6/30/2005

I chose Group Health from among my health care options primarily because their hospital was so near by. Now I choose them for their consistently improving service. There seems to be something new every month: order prescription refills and OTC drugs (really a bargain) on line and get them by mail; check your medical test results on line; email your doctor and get an answer right away; get in and out of the pharmacy (when you have a new prescription) in less than five minutes; and more. more
