Change of management needed to keep this kitschy sports bar up and running 2/5/2007

Overall, its a quirky change of place in the city. Not for veggies, this place likes their meat, but also have some mean salads. Staff seem left to their own devices, that being said, they do a pretty good job of keeping the place running, and I think a change of managment that can could keep this northwoods spot in the city. Of course, who can resist the grizzly bear statue and tree in the middle of the bar? Pros: Kitschy sports bar, above average food Cons: sometimes understaffed and disorganized more

A great place for sports nuts! 9/15/2006

I love Grizzly's Lodge! TV's all over the place! A combination of North Woods and Sports Memorabilia. A friendly place in the neighborhood where you can have a great meal, a cold beer and watch any sporting event imaginable. Don't pass up a chance to visit Grizzly's! more

Go in and have a beer 6/9/2005

Go in have a beer and watch one of their 23+ TVs or go sit in the beer garden and get a tan. This place is atmosphere is easy-going and a comfortable to hang out with a big selection of beers to choose from. If you tired of the yuppie scene, which populates every other bar around the neighborhood, this is your place. For food, try the Grizzly's chicken salad or buffalo burger Pros: LOCATION, SPACE, SEATING Cons: YUPPIE/TRANSPLANT NEIGHBORHOOD more

AWESOME 3/7/2003

With an awesome menu (the ribs are out of this world), 50 different beers, and any sporting event you can imagine, what can be better. And dont forget the NTN Trivia, try to beat me if you can. Pros: beer, food, sports more

A Grizzly Tale 9/19/2002

Grizzly's is a great place to go see any of the games you want on Sunday or just a great place to eat good food and drink good beer during the rest of the week. A good selection of beer on tap and a unique menu will bring you back time and time again. Pros: $7 Labatt pitchers, All NFL games, great food more

by far the best 8/28/2002

where else can you sit at your own little table, with your own tv and watch any sporting event from around the country, not to mention eat unique food, such as alligator and wild boar. This is not just a sports bar but an event in itself. Pros: all sporting events, individual tvs, lot of beer on tap Cons: sometimes too busy, need to get there ear more

Yummy Tater Tots 8/14/2002

The bear, the fake moose head, the real moosehead, the strange menu, the cheap drinks. Good times, my friend, good times. Pros: Food, Inexpensive, atmosphere Cons: no air conditioning, uneven menu, dirty sometimes more

Delish! 5/22/2002

  • The Scene
Vegetarians should stay far, far away from Grizzly's Lodge, a woodsy hangout where animal pelts and deer heads cover the walls, and the food menu is almost entirely carnivorous--and mostly wild game. A local crowd tosses back pitchers of Labatt Blue in the bar area and watches sports on one of the room's 23 TV screens.

    The Draw
"We sell a lotta 'gator," said one friendly waitress on a recent visit. It's easy to see why: The bite-size chunks of Cajun-style, blackened alligator are slightly chewy but perfectly seasoned, and wield a healthy kick. If you don't mind the slightly gamey flavor, the ostrich burger is a healthy way to satisfy a craving--especially since the meat is particularly low in fat and cholesterol. For a more traditional taste, try the popular chicken potpie, served piping hot in a small crock.
