Green Flea Markets operate two very popular weekend flea markets in New York City; one at the corner of Greenwich Avenue & Charles Street (between 10 & 11th Streets) and the other at Columbus Avenue (between W. 76 & 77 Streets). Both locations are accessible by subway.
These flea markets have been around twenty years and have helped to provide much needed financial & enrichment support to area public schools. A good thing.
Each weekend, you can get a map of which vendors are in residence, and browse and bargain hunt (rain or shine) to your heart's content. You can find everything from rugs, jewelry, hats, textiles & fabrics, antiques, clothing, books, vinyl records, furniture, artwork, health & beauty items, handmade items and just about anything in between.
People from all over the city visit these flea markets and you'll hear many different languages spoken here--a true melting pot.
Prices can start as little as $1 and go up from there depending upon the item--not just cheap stuff here, mind you.
