My spouse is a lover of museum, history and facts and during our stay in Grand Rapids, it was important to him to visit the art museum. The kids were small at the time, 6 and 8 years old, and I don't think they were to entertained by this event. For me it was just ok, not being familiar with much art but it was good to say that we went and had the chance to see it. Will I ever go again....No! more

Art Museum with a big-city feel 7/26/2005

I’ll be the first to admit, I don’t know a whole lot about art and art history. However, I really enjoy the collection that the Grand Rapids Art Museum has put together. In addition to their permanent collection, they are frequently host to traveling national exhibits as well. I am impressed with the diversity of their collection and the way the art is presented throughout the museum gives the place a big-city feel that would not be out of place in New York. The Grand Rapids Art Museum is definitely worth the checking out of you are in the area. more
