Best

This course, although tough, is very fair. They tell you where you want to your ball by their flag systems. It's not the deisgner of the courses fault if you cant play golf well...

Worst

Ever try to fit something into a space to small to handle it? That is the case with Grand View. The terrain on this plot of land forces a lot of target golf. The course is not ...

This is not a place I would return to, which is ashame because the food was absolutely AMAZING... We made reservations for the Mothers Day Brunch for noon yesterday, did not get seated until 40 minutes later because of their mismanaged front of the house-They reserve you a specific table and you have to wait until the people before you leave to be seated, so you had some people that waiting an hour plus, and other people who just had walked in that got seated. Once we finally got seated we were excited because the view was beautiful and the food looked delicious, but a server did not come over for at least 10 minutes, then never brought our mother the drink she had asked for, and then throughout the whole time we were there, asked us for refills once and cleared maybe 2 or 3 plates. In addition to my own table, the couple tables beside us all got up to refill their own drinks because no one was getting refills, and stacked our own plates at a nearby unused table because there was no one clearing them. At the end of the meal, it took absurdly long to get the check and then there was 18% gratuity INCLUDED on the check (we were a party of 5). more

This is a fun course. It lives up to it's name, some of the view are actually quite grand. \r \r The course has a lot of elevation changes and can be a little challenging at times for beginners. The hills lead to some very interesting lies and made me hit some unique shots I typically don't try.\r \r It was a very fun change of pace from the courses I typically play at. From a golf stand point I recommend this course. more

Mediocre at best... 5/15/2012

We made reservations a month prior for the Mother's Day Brunch Buffet but had to wait 30 minutes to be seated; other parties waited much longer. Many food items were either cold or their trays were empty. The fish was very good but that was about it. Server was slow and unprofessional; establishment tacked on a 20% gratuity... for a BUFFET... why? The server brought drinks and cleared plates; her bad attitude did not deserve a 2% tip let alone 20%. If you are just going to golf, I'm sure it's ok but I'd advise anyone to avoid their restaurant. Not worth the aggravation or disappointment. more

best golf challenge in the pittsburgh area 1/7/2008

This course, although tough, is very fair. They tell you where you want to your ball by their flag systems. It's not the deisgner of the courses fault if you cant play golf well enough to get the ball there. It is golf courses like these that keep the game interesting and fun. The game is not meant to be easy, this course prooves it! Highly reccomend this to any one who is tired of flat boring courses, ladies and elders stay home PLEASE!!!!!! you hold up play Pros: environment/ challenge Cons: par 70 more

Grandview has an exceptional view and their food has gotten better over the years. I chose Grandview for my birthday dinner this year and was very pleased with the scenery, the service and the food. This is definitely one of my favorites. Pros: view, menu choices, service more

Ever try to fit something into a space to small to handle it? That is the case with Grand View. The terrain on this plot of land forces a lot of target golf. The course is not good enough to attract the level of player that can play target golf well enough to enjoy it and a high handicapper will find he spends enough on lost balls to play elsewhere the next time. In short, the designeers shoehorned a golf course onto a site god meant for something else. Cons: Poor Design more

Directions Needed? 7/15/2002

When a course demands the use of a set of directions to play each hole it speaks greatly for the course quality. None! I don't know how anyone could rate this, or shenley park, as quality golf experiences. Both are goat paths. We have a large number of quality courses in the area. With the possible exception of food service, Grand View rates as one of the worst courses in the area followed closely by the Shenley Park course. Pros: Food at dinning room, Greens, View of the region Cons: Impossible layout, Need hiking equipment, Lost Balls on good sh more
