I called and scheduled an appointment with Got Carpets? about a month ago after inquiring an estimate to have my home cleaned. I called the company after seeing a living social deal for 5 rooms for $105. When I called I informed the employee that I had a three bedroom home with a walk in closet in the master bedroom, living/dining room combo and a stair case with a small hallway. I was told that with the living social deal they would clean the 3 bedroom, living room and dining room. They would charge an extra $22.50 for the stair case and they would not charge to clean the hallway. When I asked about the master bedroom closet they said there was no additional charge for cleaning closets.
I had someone else let them in my home (I was at work). When I got home from work, I found a $70 receipt and that my master closet had not been cleaned. I promptly called to enquire about the charges and the closet not being cleaned. When I first called, I was told they would call back in 10 minutes and find a way to correct the issue. Then when I was called back I was told that my husband (it was a friend) told them not to clean the master closet and that stairs were an additional 37.50 and the hallway was 22.50 and the landing downstairs was an additional 10. I will admit I forgot to mention the landing during the estimate call, so I am not upset that I was charged for this area, but the additional $15 charge for the stairs and the $22.50 for the hallway I was told I would not be charged for. I was also told when I called that it would have been an additional $17.50 for the closet to be cleaned (and its small).
The employee who called me back about the charges was rude and began to yell when I tried to ask questions. Also, when I asked to speak to a manager I was hung up on.
I had my friend call from his phone and get the owner on the phone so I may speak to them. The owner did not seem to care that I was charged for items outside my estimate and said my husband (again my friend) said not to clean the closet. She apologized about the rude employee but did nothing about the additional charges. She said no additional discounts or compensation would be given because I used a living social coupon and had already received a discount.
