I love the setup of this driving range; unlike other driving ranges that are mostly on the ground, where balls are sent flying over grass (how ordinary), Chelsea offers three tiers from which you can tee off. If you go all the way to the top, even when you mess up, it appears that your ball actually went somewhere. Also, there is the added pleasure of the illusion that your ball is going into the Hudson River. However, it is a little more expensive than most driving ranges (about $25 for 100 balls or so). more

Want to feel like you're driving a Titleist into the blowhole of a whale 1/13/2006

At the driving range at the Golf Club at Chelsea Piers, you, like Kramer can hit balls into the ocean. It certainly seems like that since you're facing out on the river and the net that catches the balls is almost invisible. It's a lovely and scenic driving range, if not a little expensive, but a great passtime for Manhattan golf enthusiasts and Seinfeld fans a like. more

pretty cool driving balls over the hudson 11/14/2005

its pretty expensive but then again so is everything in new york - i dont know why i say that every time i write a review. that said the sensation of driving balls down the pier over the hudson is pretty unique and definitely worth the trip. only problem is you have to share with like 100 others. be careful when the suns setting - it can either be pretty or blinding! more
