The ratings given are all very old under previous management. Aveda spa, for those who care, is long since gone.
I joined before the building was built. Original owner was a decent guy, his staff a bit stuck up, but gym was in good shape. Fast forward 10 years, gym has changed ownership several times, steam room has been broken for 2 plus years, sauna in disrepair, much of cardio equipment has bad audio jacks.
But the biggest reason for NOT joining this gym is that you can never quit! They will keep billing your credit card, member services claims they cannot stop it, if you cancel your credit card to stop the nonsense, they will keep charging it and then add bi-monthly $25 fee (50/month) for failure of the charge to go through.
I've been in multiple times, talked to the ""manager"" (guy is nothing more than a muscle head who refuses to do anything), he won't give me the corporate Gold's number and insists the charges will stay.
Filled out a form for corporate to cancel, they rejected it saying one could not cancel if one owed any fees.
Am stuck in this endless cycle, each month more fees added, of which I refuse to pay, and here I find myself, a dozen phone calls, 7 visits to the gym to resolve this, and February charges were just put on my closed account.
If Gold's gets your credit card or WORSE YET your bank account, you are in serious trouble. Under no circumstances should you allow a debit from your bank account. At least with credit, you have some protection.
Stay away from this place.
