We had the worst ordeal with this gym. If you are going to sign up with your spouse, make sure you ASK about family discounts. We were ignorant and didn't know to ask, even though we told the sales person we were married, and we were charged for two full price memberships. No kind of offer was made. Yes, we were dumb, but shame on them for taking advantage.
Second issue, we never got a copy of the contract that day. I called back to get one but was told the salesperson was the only one who get it for us, and he was now at a new location but that they were sure we were given a copy. I never got a call back for the contract, but didn't think I'd have any issues so I let it slide. MISTAKE. We were never told that when our contract expired we had to fill out a form to keep them from continuing to charge our card. When we called about some issues and told the store manager we weren't going to renew, we said ""when our contract is over then we are done with Gold's right?"" She said yes, and never told us about the form to stop payments. When we called her on it, she said something similar to ""well, you were told that when you signed up (we weren't) and I would know to do that so I don't know why you didn't know."" We did get the money for the extra months refunded, but it was an ordeal and took going above her head.
Also, my husband signed up for several personal training sessions. He had a difficult time getting the trainer to return his calls to get them scheduled. At one point she told us his remaining sessions had expired. We were NEVER told that the sessions would ever expire, and ended up losing our money for several sessions.
We found their sales/business practices misleading and withholding of information. We will never ever return to this gym.
Pros: Indoor track & convenient location
Cons: Poor communication from management & sales reps
