Goldenlands Tattoos

I write this with some regret as I have quite a few tats from this shop (10-12) going back many years. So I have seen Gary and Mitch deteriorate in quality and I think it is due to aging/health and failure to stay current. My last tattoo was a year ago and while my previous experiences I would give a 5-star review, this most recent experience had me leaving upon completion knowing i’d never return and questioning myself why I didn’t walk out before allowing this piece to be inked on. It was by far the simplest of all my pieces, but the depth the ink was applied was all over the board. It healed worse than any other tat, the lines are not sharp, the color has both bled beyond the lines and has places that were missed. It’s time the guys hang up their needles. more

i recently got a tattoo done at goldenlands and the shop is clean but the quality of the tattoo is very poor and now i have to get it touched up and not happy with it, and they didn't even give me any tips on the aftercare do not recommend the shop because of poor quality more

Great place to go for a tattoo, clean shop,talented artists and they make your experience comfortable and fun for even the most jittery of people, I've been going here for the past 7 years and will highly recommend this place to anyone!!! more

I've been to Goldlands a few times... The atmosphere is great and the artists are friendly and courteous! I would definitely recommend Goldenlands for anyone considering piercings or tattoos. 09/13/08 SRJ more

A friend recommended Goldenlands after having her tattoo, and several of my co-workers had also gone there...and loved it. So, after I made the decision of what I wanted to have tattooed...a starfish...I couldn't find a picture of one looking the way I wanted it to. Upon my arrival at Goldenlands, I was warmly met, and was impressed by the staff's professionalism. Luke was my inker...and I described what I wanted and in minutes he hand drew exactly what I was thinking. I asked him if he could do certain colors, and he did an incredible job!!! There's a huge, completely enclosed glass bird cage, with parrots, macaws, etc....and it really gives you something to watch while your having the tattoo done. Luke made sure I was comfortable the whole time and made the experience a good one. I love my tattoo and will be going back for my next!!! more

When I was looking to get a tattoo, I researched for what would be the safest place to do so in the St. Louis area and all information led me to Goldenlands. The shop keepers do not allow anyone waiting to get serviced to become rowdy and they kept a pretty tight rein on all customers, saying that it was a professional place. When it was my turn to get tattooed, the artist asked to see my drawing, copied and reworked it a bit and then made sure that everything was just how I wanted it. Once it was, he went to work - he sterilized the area, got fresh needles and ink and then took an ink machine (I don't know the technical term) and went to work. It wasn't easy, but Rich was patient and very easygoing. He kept me relaxed so that it would hurt as little as possible. Overall, it was a very clean, strictly business kind of place that was incredibly creative. They've also got artwork for sale and other items that the tattoo artists create. more

While I wasn't thrilled about my husband getting a tattoo, I was thrilled with the way that Golden Lands Tattoo runs their business. The place is immaculately clean, they don't allow any goofing off and everyone in the facility is very professional. We were welcomed and asked how we could be helped upon entering and when my husband asked if they could reproduce a picture that he had brought with him, they assured him they could and immediately gave a price. (Very reasonable!) We had to wait for an "inker" to become available, but once it was my husband's turn, the time went by quickly. They copied and then sterilized his skin, where the tattoo was going to be placed. The stencil was applied and then the inker got his needles (fresh needles) and fresh ink. He got his needle gun from a sealed package and began. The inker was very conscientious of my husband, making sure he was comfortable the entire time. If you are looking for a clean, professional place to get a tattoo you can do no better than Golden Lands. more
