I dont know about the Matsui stuff but this place is great. The katsu curry is cooked perfectly and the curry sauce is excellent. For cheap eats under $10, this is one of the best bargains in the city. I wish they would open more locations that are easier to get to. more

Best Japanese curry in NYC 2/11/2009

This is a very small Japanese restaurant that serves very good Japanese curry. They have the best curry in the city. I usually go there on the 5th, 15th and 25th of the month because they give out free topping coupons on those dates. My favorite dish is the Grand Slam where it has a little bit of everything. The pork, chicken and shrimps are so crispy. This restaurant looks similar to a Chinese take out restaurant where you can eat there without paying tips. Those who love Japanese curry should give this restaurant a try. I am sure you will go back again and again. Pros: Good food. more

Comfort food with a kick 5/1/2008

Anyone who's ever been to Japan has probably enjoyed the Japanese take on curry, which is a a slightly spicy variation on Japanese comfort food. Whenever I need my curry fix, I head right to GoGo where the curry is thick and rich, the portions are huge and the katsu is perfectly fried. The Grand Slam (which basically has everything on the menu pilled on a double-helping of rice) is more than enough for two and will leave everyone completely stuffed. Pros: Great fresh food, fast service Cons: If it's busy, expect a tight squeeze at the counter more

Bring an appetite 3/26/2008

Sure, it costs a little more than chain fast food or your neighborhood Chinese joint, but this Japanese comfort-food import is well worth trying. Pros: friendly, straight-forward menu Cons: making the best of bad decor more

top japanese fast food chain sees the world! 1/14/2008

Generous portions 9/27/2007

We came Sunday night, 9/25, at 8pm, not a soul was dining. Service was fast. I ordered the Grand Slam Curry, the portion was so huge, big enough for two. I've never seen curry so dark and thick before. It was a bit salty for me. They've got specials on the 5th, 15th and 25th of every month, a tribute to Hideki Matsui. We got coupons to get a free side, which you have the option of redeeming right away. The space isn't large so it's probably packed during lunch hour on the weekdays. Pros: generous portion, quick service Cons: no bathroom more
