He calls himself a Dr.?? 4/14/2011

All of the negative reviews are completely accurate and sound like my same experience. The positive reviews are probably either written by Dr. Lubin himself or GMS. EVERY TIME I have gone in there I have been outraged by Dr. Lubin and his staff's demeanor and lack of professionalism. As a pharmacist and healthcare provider myself, it honestly scares me that this office continues to provide healthcare to patients. I went in for simple vaccinations and bloodwork and the entire staff was incompetent, rude, and careless. I actually had to tell the nurse that she had the wrong vaccine vial in her hands! God only knows what other mistakes they make on a daily basis. That was after I had to come back for another appointment because they were out of stock for that particular vaccine. However, they were more than happy to demand another co-pay from me despite their shortcomings. Now on to Dr. Lubin himself. He is a smug, condescending, burnt out ""physician"" who is probably more worried about getting sued than actually taking care of patients. For the person who wrote he knows his stuff, you are sorely mistaken my friend. I mentioned to him that I had a thyroglossal duct cyst and was concerned about it possibly becoming malignant later on. First he didn't even know where the thyroglossal duct was and stated he would need to look up the anatomy, and then scornfully replied, ""Well you can get an ultrasound if you're that worried about it"". Are you kidding me?? This guy is absolutely unbelievable and I will never step foot in his office again. Period, the end. Don't make the same mistake I did. more

Positive Reviews? REALLY? 2/26/2011

I can not imagine who in their right mind would give this doctor and completely rude and unprofessional staff a positive rating, but I am glad other people have had better experiences than I have.\r \r First off, the staff has ""lost"" my test results on more than one occasion, requiring me to come in and retake blood and urine tests. The nurse on staff couldn't find a vein in my arm to draw blood from, and wanted to draw it from my hand. This has NEVER happened to me in all my years of going to doctors (35 years). They are rude and unprofessional. Thirdly, I every single time I have to go and wait for at least 30-45 minutes to see the nurse practitioner. The couple of times I saw the doctor, he was extremely rude, acted like he was bothered my questions, and tried to rush me out of the office.\r \r There is absolutely nothing positive I can say about this sorry excuse for a doctor and his pathetic, rude staff. I have since changed doctors, and I am much happier. more

Great Doctor 9/29/2010

I disagree with the bad ratings here. Do you want your doctor to be your best friend or do you want your doctor to know medicine like the back of his hand?\r \r I have been going to Dr. Lubin's office for several years now. He is not talkative, but I am not looking for a metrosexual doctor. He is a man - and he is a good doctor. He is thorough in all of his tests. He gets to the bottom of every problem very quickly and he has never been wrong in my experience.\r \r If you want a good doctor, here he is. If you want a mushy-gushy smooth talker then simply pay attention to the negative posts on here.\r \r I like Dr. Lubin. more

Excellent Primary Care Physician 4/4/2009

I have been a patient of Dr. Lubin’s for several years now and I have been very comfortable with him as my primary care physician. He is extremely knowledgeable and non-judgmental. I very much appreciate not only his personal style, but that of this staff’s. They are friendly, efficient, caring and genuinely interested in the health and welfare of their patients. One of the reasons I have stayed with Dr. Lubin and his staff over the years is because the staff has remained the same and it is easier working with people who are aware of your medical history and can work together to provide the best care. The foster a caring environment and even on those rare occasions when they are extremely busy, they still take the time to make sure you are getting the care you need and to sat ‘hello.’\r Dr. Lubin takes the time to answer questions and provide detailed information. He can also direct you to additional resources or sources of information and makes sure you actually understand the information he wants you to be aware of. I also likes that he inquires about the activities and stresses in my personal and professional life with any eye towards understanding how they are affecting my health, both short and long term. He has referred me to several specialists over the years and all of them have been excellent too. I like that he refers me to doctors or specialists who are of the same caliber as Dr. Lubin. \r In summary, I cannot recommend Dr. Lubin and his staff highly enough. Theirs is a friendly, knowledgeable and thorough family oriented practice where the patient really does come first. \r more

great family doctor 11/30/2007

Dr. David Lubin is associated with GMS medical now, but I?ve been a patient of his almost since he began his practice. Throughout thirty years I have found him to be considerate, concerned and knowledgeable. Over that time he has sent me to specialists who were tops in their field, and he continues to keep up with my condition even as the specialists are doing their thing.\r An example of his familiarity with his patients? conditions may be made of the fact that Dr. Lubin insisted some years ago that I get a chest X-Ray even though I reminded him it had been only a short time since I?d had one. That X-Ray resulted in spotting lung cancer in both lungs at such an early stage that Moffitt got it out and, three years later, it has not returned.\r His office operations are pretty much controlled by GMS (Dr. Call backs, system for retrieving referrals, office staffing, etc.) and, while there have been a couple of occasions some time back where I did not particularly care for the personnel, the bunch that are there now are just great. I don?t recall ever spending an unusually long time in the waiting room over all those years and, as a bonus, there are current issues of magazines lying on the tables.\r He has a very ?dry? or peculiar sense of humor (framed covers and original art work from MAD Magazine hang all over the place) and I suspect some people could misinterpret some of his observations and remarks. During the time I?ve been seeing Dr. Lubin I re-married and my wife now uses him as her primary care physician too.\r Overall, I?d rank Dr. Lubin as excellent and his office staff as very good. If you're looking for a family doctor, here's a good one.\r Pros: On time, knows medical histories and stays current Cons: GMS office policies and restrictions more

Sorry excuse for a doctor 10/8/2007

I agree completely with the reviews. Dr. Lubin acts like he is bothered by his patients. I have been in there for on going pain with my back from an accident and instead of giving me what works for pain while I get through physical therapy, he gives me pills that do nothing but knock me out or make me dizzy. He treated me like a degenerate while I was there and refused to believe that I was in pain because I'm only 26! He actually said that! He had no problem taking my co-pay though for doing absolutely nothing! Needless to say, I left there livid and desperate. His staff doesn't even like him. They say he is moody and that is an understatement. Someone needs to kick him off his high horse and teach him some social skills and compassion. It looks like anyone can get a medical license these days. Pros: Mary Beth Gavio Cons: Dr. Davis Lubin more

GMS 10/4/2007

I agree with the previous reviewer. This office and this doctor leave you with a bad feeling. I have been there several times and every time it's the same - dismissive attitude, shoddy service. I am changing doctors. Pros: on time Cons: condescending, dismisive doctor, shoddy service more

Dr. Lubin 9/26/2007

The experience I had with Dr Lubin's office was nothing short of a bad joke. The office staff, with the exception of Deanne and the office manager, were somewhat rude and unprofessional. The doctor seemed bored and uninterested in anything I had to say, acting almost as if I was wasting his time by being there. Lastly, I was charged for a recheck appointment that didn't happen, I wasted my valuable time getting a babysitter and driving to the other side of town, to be told they had misplaced my lab work and would call me the next day with the result. The next day, I was given the results by a secretary, the doctor didn't even bother to call, so what was I being charged for? I can certainly say I would not recommend this office to anyone. Pros: Can not think of one. Cons: The entire experience. more
