I love this doctor. He gives it to you straight. He was the doctor for both my children. He kept the nurse inline and made sure I was well cared for I am high risk and he kept me inline to. Thank you! I did not need c-section due to this man and cant wait for baby #3 to happen. To many people make poor decisions and expect everyone to tell them its ok but we all need a kick in the pants from time to time and bringing a baby in the world is serious. If you want hand holding and aromatherapy get a midwife I hear thier very groovy. I like that the doctor joked with me and spent time with me but that we kept the visit quick and mostly on topic he always took the time to answer all my question and make sure I was ok. But he is busy and so am I. Keep upthe good work guys. more

Excellent, knowledgable Dr. - Would recommend to others 10/15/2012

I have been seeing Dr. Darrow since I was 16 years old. He was recommended to me by my step-mother who had also been a patient of Dr. Darrow's. Dr. Darrow has delivered all three of my children via c-section. In all three of my pregancies, I always felt 100% safe in his care. For me, a dr with years of experience delivering hundreds of babies always makes me feel more confident that if something were to go wrong, they would be the one to save me and baby. Dr. Darrow always answered my questions and was extremely thorough every time I saw him. I will say that Dr. Darrow is a busy doctor with lots of patients, so if you are looking for someone who will always spend hours with you, he is not the doctor for you. Although, he always had time for me if I needed extra reassurance or had questions to be answered. I would recommend Dr. Darrow to anyone looking for a knowledgable, experienced OB/GYN. He is wonderful. more

It has been over eleven years when my sister was pregnant with her daughter. i rememberd the day my sister last visited Dr. Robert Darrow in his office because i was with her for the fact that her husband was in Denmark and my sister was 7 month with her pregnancy, Prior to the last visit my sister called Dr Darrow office to let him know that she was not feeling kicks and the nurse kept telling her it is not unusual. We finally went to the office to let him know without an oppointment. That was my first day meeting him and he had a cast on his left leg and was very rude. He decided to do Ultera sound on my sister and he told her the fetus is 7 month and has not developing well because has not gotten enough nutrition from the mom because t he umbillcus was aging too fast. he sent us to another doctor not too far from his office to confirm his findings. The other doctor (don't remember his name, nice guy) had the same news for us. After getting back to Dr Darrow, He was still rude and told us that the fetus survival rate is only less than 5% and gave us two choices. Choice #1 is to go back home and wait till the baby abort, or choice #2 to go to Presby Dallas accross the street, so he would abort the baby in the moring.. This was so shocking to us and did not know what to do. my sister and i were discussing what to do. Dr Darrow, after dropping this sad news like a bomb without no empathy, started to get mad because we did not give him our dicision in 2 min. My sister took choice #2 and got admitted at presby dallas. Lab work done soon after admission and cbc showed that her platletes was on a very low side and Dr Darrow decided to do emergency c section on her that night. I spoke to the pedi doctor, who was very nice and calm and assured us that the survival rate for the baby was over 90%. when we asked Dr Darrow that there is a huge difference between his 5% survival number and the other Dr's 90%, is answer was" eveybody's number is different." Thank GOD, my sister had a beautiful daughter 1lbs and 2oz more

Impersonal 7/13/2010

I have been using Dr. Darrow as an OB and I have to say I am very disappointed. Granted I think he is knowledgeable but he is very impersonal during his visits. He is very rushed and it seems that his main focus is fitting as many patients into his schedule as possible. He doesn't take the time to listen and visit with the patient as an individual. He doesn't even stay in the room for more than 3 minutes at a time. Usually the doctor would be the one to listen for the heartbeat but its always a medical assistant who does it... and a different one every time at that. It makes me very uncomfortable. On a couple of occasions he has been rude and it seems that his favorite answer for every complaint or concern is "You must not be eating right." Surely, Dr. Darrow, there are conditions with symptoms that have nothing to do with how the mother is eating. I know that I will be researching into what his percentage of c-sections versus vaginal deliveries is, as I wouldn't want to be party to an unnecessary coercive c-section. As from having previous children with different, more caring doctors, I know it is important to have a doctor present during your delivery that you know cares and is not rude. I am actually hoping that he is not going to be the doctor on duty if I happen to go into labor on my own. more

Excellent OB-GYN Doctor!!! 11/9/2005

Dr. Darrow is one excellent OB-Gyn. He's very thorough and professional. He's also very understanding and helpful and offers you a lot of options when needed to offer you the best care possible. He's a very friendly and warm person that makes you feel very comfortable. The office staff is wonderful and helpful as well. I never wait for more than 15mins and I am in and out in no time. Also I never have problems scheduling appointments. Overall a very wonderful office filled with people to care for you in the very best way. There are two other physicians practicing in the office as well but by far Dr. Darrow is the best. He was recently named as one of America's Top OB-Gyn's and published in an article in Consumer Reports. SO if you are looking for a great physician Dr. Darrow is a sure bet. more
