Keep Shopping 12/6/2011

Gladstone Animal Clinic has some good doctors but if you choose to stay with this vet be sure to invest in pet insurance or some kind of a pet care program. Or always keep an emergency fund set aside for your pets. I have two cats and two dogs and stuck with Gladstone for at least 10 years as a loyal, paying customer. I bought all of my senior dogs medication refills there also, even though I knew I could order them online for less money. But when my 11 year old dog had an HGE episode, hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, Gladstone Animal Clinic refused to help her when I called them and told them I would not be able to immediately pay the bill at the time of services due to having already paid several hundred dollars to the Animal Emergency Clinic only a few hours earlier that same morning. Our conversation occurred at around 8:00am and my dog died at around 10:30am. If you can't set up some kind of an emergency backup plan for times like this then wait until AFTER they have done their work on your pet, and then tell them you can't pay at that time. Whatever you do, DO NOT call ahead and be honest with them upfront. Because if it is truly an emergency your pet will suffer and possibly die. Shop around, ask questions, and talk with some other vets before getting too comfortable at Gladstone Animal Clinic. more

Highly Disappointing 6/7/2011

I have used this office for years. I agree with the other review on pricing and I can never see my vet. Along with incorrect information, botched scheduling and etc. I do not have time to deal with the imcompetence that seems to be commonplace in this office. Past issues include being told my dog had an enlarged heart, then a follow up xray telling me that the first xray was just a bad xray. My dog must have squirmed. So I dealt with all the anxiety of worrying until the second one only to find out I did all that worrying for nothing. Since receiving her last immunization she has been sick. First just overall feeling bad now a nasty eye infection. I find it hard to believe it is just a coincidence. Time to go elsewhere for this dog mamma. more

Very Friendly Staff 12/8/2005

This is a great place to take your pet if it is sick or is having problems. They are pretty pricey when it comes to shots and medicine. You have to pay $35 just to see the doctor and that does not include the shots or medicine. The staff is worth it. They always show great interest in my dog and really care about her so it makes it worth it. I Wouldn't take my pet anywhere else. more

North oak vets. 8/14/2005

I once had to take my dog to gladstone animal clinic when I adopted him, because that is where the animal shelter took him to get fix and check out for fleas and other puppy ailments. They seemed to be busy all of the time, with a waiting room full of other animals, but the vet was very nice, explained things that needed to be taken care of, and when to bring him back to get his stitches taken out. They even gave him a treat, and now he doesn't hate going to the vet that much! more
