The cupcakes are undeniably fantastic. There is a great variety of cupcake creations. The atmosphere is fun and feminine. I thought this would be a great place to take a little group of Girl Scouts after we visited the 100th year of Girl Scouting exhibit downtown at the History museum. From all appearances, it should have been a great way to end the day. However, the person who appeared to be the manager was so much less than welcoming. He was quite short with us. One of the little girls was even celebrating a birthday. Even after singing Happy Birthday to her, he didn't come to ask if we were enjoying the cupcakes. I honestly think he wanted us to leave as quickly as possible. There was not enough inside seating and the mothers in the group had to stand, even though there was an open table with no chairs. They did provide complimentary cups of water because the kids began to complain that they could not eat the cupcakes, they were so rich. They also provide a complimentary box to take your cupcake home if you cannot finish it there. I just did not feel very welcome there. Maybe I misunderstood the vibe of the place and it is meant more for adults. If you enjoy being treated like you are in a bar at 2:00 a.m. at last call, by all means, Gigi's is the place for you. However, if you like to have someone give you a nice smile at the counter, wish you a happy holiday, and share some kindess, maybe you should make your own cupcakes or find a place that is not associated with a franchise to buy your cupcakes.
