Reasonably priced very creative menu, fresh ingredient and delicious. You have to try the Pork Bun if you’ve never tried one. It is quite scrumptious. Portions are not that big so you can try out few different things. The best in its category actually come up with delicious food with good presentation. Good work done by the chefs. more

Bad Experience!. I went to Gigi's with my girlfriend and ordered 4 dishes on the waiter's advice that all their dishes were small. The first two dishes we picked were not available. The other dishes were ridiculously small and the taste wasn't good. The BBQ chicken was severely over cooked and tasted really bad. I ordered two beers and they looked like samples. The total damage was about $70 and we didn't enjoy a bit of this place. more

Unfortunate that recent reviews have been negative. I've been at least 10 times to Gigi over the last year and have not experienced any of the negatives mentioned here. What the food lacks in portion it certainly makes up in taste! The pork buns are amazing and I experienced the curry chicken buns this week for the first time...WOW!! And the "rib meat" meatloaf is a treat that I have not seen anywhere else. Nightly specials are not posted till 7PM or a little later and wait staff does not know what it will be but who cares, it will rock no matter what. Oh, and any preconceived notions about brussel sprouts will be shattered when you try the brussel sprout and cauliflower dish. Sit at the bar and watch as the chefs create a masterpiece with each dish. more

So overrated. Same menu, really bad service. They think they are so cool so they don't care about good service. They tried to charge us for things we didn't ask. Bad service more

This restaurant is in the up-and-coming Midtown area. The menu (which changes alot) is consistently outstanding. I really love the "Steak and eggs" stir fry, and any dish that has their Udon noodles. more

Stopped by on the way to the Heat Game....\r \r Was greeted by a young lady and asked for a table for two and was told that I would not be seated until my wife was with me. Had Told her that my wife had stopped in to check out the furniture store next door.\r \r Found this to be Unacceptable to me....It was a Wednesday night around 6:30 and only about a half a dozen tables were occupied.....REALLY???\r \r \r Never tried the Food....might never.... more

Really bad service. In the last two occasions I was there the service was awful. Waiters that didn't know the specials of the night, that forgot my main course and brought the dessert menu instead. Main course that come with half the ingredients (duck with cauliflower truffle puree, came without the cauliflower truffle puree) wen I complained she got upset and the manager brought a dessert on the house, after we told him we did not want it. On another occasion they charged an extra glass of wine, (we had only one, charged for two) and manager wouldn't take it off of the bill, offered ice cream instead (?) with a bad attitude and when we were ready to go. Really bad experiences. Food ok. more

Heard that Gigi was good, decided to give it a try, we sat outside as we have a dog. Appalling smell coming from the street drain but that was the least of our troubles.\r Waitress was at best condescending, she immediately said "well you've obviousley never eaten here before" and explained that the food comes out at different times, "like Tapas" !!!!!!????? Huh??? Anyway we asked for some water for our dog and she gave a long story about not having anything to put the water in, really? in a restaurant, what about a take-out container we asked, "no" she said they don't hold water!! Food arrived slowly and at intervals, ok we were warned but the special of the night, the Duck showed up 40 mins after everything else and we had to ask three other waitstaff what was happening before it even arrived. We told her to cancel the duck and she said "I TOLD YOU things come at different times" \r We will never return, any SoBe/Midtown/Design District restaurant will offer water for a dog UNPROMPTED!! back to Sugarcane we go!! more

Excellent quality food and always a delight to visit. This restaurant is wonderful to go to if you would like to try different things and also share with your guests. The smoked pork buns are delicious and the duck fried rice is heavenly. Good atmosphere as well. Things to keep in mind: if you have a big party, they do not take reservations and will not seat you until everyone is there. Highly recommended! more

I am all for new restaurants with fresh new menus and great interior architecture (the large window with its view of Miami Avenue is a simple but perfect feature for a restaurant). Gigi is one of these new places.\r The concept is excellent! The space is welcoming, the flavors are very interesting, and the orange/honey beer local to Florida is interesting as well. Some say that the portions are too small, but that is all relative if one is used to massive servings.\r The problem with this restaurant is that it is so cool, it is letting it go to its head. For example, bad planning locates the trash right by the rear entrance from the parking. In a bad day, the fly infestation is so bad, they even invade the interior of the restaurant, which, mind you, has an open kitchen. They will turn down a customer on a weekend just because they get to the door 15 minutes too early. And now, with Art Miami, they will demand payment for parking to prevent others from using their parking lot, even if parking to eat in the restaurant. I've had great lunches with my kids, with clients, and alone with my wife, but I am done with the disappointment of having to leave without eating.\r Good places turn bad very easily when they become full of themselves. That's what has happened to Gigi. more

In a city full of flashy restaurants that charge high prices for mediocre food, Gigi has been a great find for me and my wife. The staff is friendly, service fast and food is excellent. Even my 3 year old loves the food and watching the guys cook in the open kitchen. If your main concern is quantity of food, you might be disappointed, but for anyone wanting to be satisfied by an excellent dinner in a great atmosphere, Gigi is a must try. more

This isn't advertised as a family restaurant. It's a NYC style rush hour foodie spot. Don't bring kids, this isn't suppose to be Applebee's. The quality of food for the price is almost unreal. Again, consider that this restaurant isn't a chain rather a creation of a Top Chef contestant. It's a busy, trendy bustling spot with an avant-garde menu and that's what it is trying to be. It meets every expectation in the food department, which is the only thing that matters with this kind of place. more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 8/13/2011

This place is excellent for a tapas style meal over a glass of wine and good conversation. It's not a good place for a seat-down five-course detante. If you are looking for that you'll be disappointed, you'll find the portions small and service slow. If you just want to have small portions over drinks, hang out with beautiful people and just relax and have some fun, this is a great place. Loved and will come back. more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 8/13/2011

This place is pretentious and full of itself! The portion sizes are way too small. The service is pushy and dismissive. The food came out all at different times and one dish took 25 minutes to serve. If customers aren't satisfied with your current portion sizes, the solution is not to have them order additional entries. Not worth the hassle. more

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! Great atmosphere, great food, great location! Menu is always changing. Open late. more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 7/17/2011

Rude hostess, rude servers, horrible experience. It's too bad chef because the food was good but not good enough to deal with being treated like crap after we spent about $200. Miami has plenty of other options. Oh and call the health department and call code enforcement because this place needs to be audited. more

the most horrible experience ever! Let me tell you, the food was not great and the service was horrible! our waiter did not like kids, he refused to take care of us and we were ready to spend some cash!.then he goes to the bathroom with his apron on! The food came in one at a time, I'd say like 10min. apart!. and some orders never arrived! the waiter left in the middle of our service!I called the Manager over to explain how unhappy all 6 of us were, and he didnt even care! their was nothing good about our experience.Couldn't even order desert. Our 2yr behaved like a man! more
