I live in the grove and it is my number 1 restaurant.\r Usually it is full so sometimes there is a line to get a table but it is really worth it.\r Best french restaurant in Miami.\r Friendly staff and very good food.\r Be back tomorrow night!!! more

This place has no idea how to make a drink. When have you ever had a manhattan served on ice in a rocks glass? Sure, if you order it that way, maybe. When we requested it served up, we got it warm in a shot glass. Ah miami, really the end of the world as far as most things go, particularly bartending. more

This place might not be for everyone, but we loved it! Best swordfish I have ever had (special, so they might not have it when you go). My wife is not a big meat eater but for some reason ordered the short rib special and I can't get her to stop raving about how great it was.\r \r The birthday routine may seem kitschy but I think that with the overall atmosphere it works perfectly.\r \r Service was efficient but not too friendly, which is what I like. None of that "Hi, my name is Chad and I'll be your server. Can I get you some appies?" crap. Give me the menu, say good evening, take my order, bring my food in a timely manner, and make me feel welcome. I got all of that at George's. more

The atmosphere here is unique, with an awesome Buddha statue collection and nice lighting. It's perfect just for a glass of wine but the food was excellent, including g one of the best pieces of salmon I've ever had. The waiters are fun and friendly. Can't wait to go back. more

Stumbled into this place with my date as we wandered around the Grove looking for seafood. What a stroke of luck. Saturday night, busy as hell and with no reservations. The staff couldn't do enough for us, a 5 minute wait and we were ushered to a table with a complimentary glass of champaign each. Mussels and fries were ordered as they looked great and didn't disappoint. Waiting staff very attentive without being overbearing and George doing the rounds on the tables to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. The sudden blast of music, lazers and dry ice transform this eatery in a nightclub in an instant to celebrate someones birthday is a great quirky touch that just adds to the overall experience. Will be going back very soon. more

If you are an uptight, picky eater who likes quiet dinners and likes to whine and complain about everything, then this isn't the place for you. Yes the place is loud, but it makes it a unique dining experience from any other restaurant. It's always a good sign if the restaurant is always packed!!!The food is great, the mussels come in a delicious white wine broth, very generous portions. The lobster salad with caramelized onions is amazing, the truffle fries are delicious and the!!! I always order the same thing because I got hooked the first time. The owner is charismatic, genuine and greets all the guests. Great place to have a birthday, great ambiance, lively energy....There's no other place like George's....I love it!!! more

Went there for New Year's Eve., the only thing worse than the service was the food. My wife had a duck that tasted worse than its grey and slimy looks. After they finally brought us champagne they snuck the glasses away still half full. There are such great restaurants in the Grove and CG, this one is the pits. more

Great Place! 12/27/2009

Went on christmas day. New to Miami and never had heard of this place- just happened to be walking by. I was pleasantly surprised! They do not have a full bar-boo! but do have beer and wine. They have great bread and the server was very good with food descriptions. I started with mixed grns with Goat cheese- awesome! and my date had the salad with St. Marcelin cheese. He really enjoyed it. The food did take awhile but we just munched on the great bread. They were busy so what did I expect? I had the Duck confit as my entree and he had the roast chicken, which were both really great. The portions were generous which was also great. We were both very happy with the meal and will be going back. again and again. Pros: Excellent French food Cons: Food was a lil slow/ does not have full bar more

Great experience! Fun place to take someone on their Birthday! It's a celebration when it's time to sig happy birthday.. Strobe lights, loud music, and sparklers! more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 8/14/2009

George's is jam packed, but crazy fun! There's nothing pretentious about this French restaurant. Birthdays are an over-the-top experience... complete with a disco ball, sparklers, and blaring music. It's obnoxious, but you can't help but fall in love with the place! \r \r Oh, and the food's great too! The menu is small, but adventurous. Breakfast, lunch or dinner, it's all good! Lots of daily specials... Love the truffle fries and duck. more

The pancakes and frechtoast are great, good variety. The eggs benidict salmon or bacon good choices. The lunch and dinner menu are excellent. Plus the owner George adds to the atmosphere with his crazy French demeanor. more

Well, this will be less of a review and more of a rundown of the food and experience Ive had at George's in the Grove on my first 2 visits. Ive been there twice and Ive yet to order an entree. This is for 2 reasons. First, for some reason the 2 times Ive been I wasnt super hungry. Second, the apps are HUGE. Here is a quick rundown of what Ive had there. Bear with me because Im long-winded :) Pros: ambience Cons: not more

Noisy - Very expensive for the quality - Long service - Long wait to be seated - DO NOT RECOMMEND 6/24/2008

I went there twice and it was awful, honestly, i waited 40 min to get a table for me and my wife, they gave us a glass of ""supposed champagne"" which is actually just cheap French sparkling wine, the noise inside was horrible, we had to yell at each other in order to be able to have a normal conversation. The owner,George is yelling aroung, whistling every 2 seconds, announcing stupid stuff over his microphone, it just adds up to the horrible noise that made our dinner a nightmare. Pros: i didnt find any .... Oh yes, the restaurant itself is pretty and has a nice decor Cons: price-quality-service-parking*-wait to be seated even with reservation- NOISE more
