Ordered a kitchen sink grate in March. Called them at least 20 times over the next six months, only returned my calls twice, and gave me a number of different excuses. Picked it up 3 times only to have it be the wrong product. Kept telling me they were sorry but never followed up with me. In the end they told me the vendor would not make my product.\r Possibly some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. more

To Patti K: In 2005 you purchased a Bradford White electric water heater for installation from George Morlan (GM). You didn?t mention who installed it. If your electrician husband installed it and didn?t take out a permit and have the installation inspected, he broke the law and effectively that could void your homeowners insurance. Your upper thermostat started tripping shortly after installation and after 4 years your lower stat burned up. Gosh! I?m thinking the factory made and installed part might be suspect. As with ALL items sold anywhere, when the labor warranty expires the CUSTOMER pays for the labor. As far as thermostat brands go, if you believe that is of importance, then you must also believe only Ford labeled motor oil should be put in Fords and that a ?Fram? air filter is of lesser quality than one marked genuine GM part.\r You said ?we changed the breaker?. Did you get a permit? What brand of breaker costs over $200? Was it 24 karat gold plate more

incompetent, unorganized, unaccountable 2/22/2010

I've purchased both small parts and larger items from this company. Each time something has gone wrong and no one at any of their branches has taken any accountability for these mistakes. I have been sent across town to other GM stores for parts that were not actually in stock, as promised. I have purchased new toilets, only to have them delivered with missing parts - and it take DAYS for these parts to be moved to an accessible branch for personal pick-up. While my time and money is wasted, my phone calls are never answered with a simple apology or a hint of motivation to fix the problem or an actual answer as to when these necessary parts will arrive. I would rather spend my money online and wait for shipping than expend any more energy shopping here. more

George Morlan Plumbing Svc is HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!! 12/30/2009

We purchased a Bradford White electric hot water heater in Sep 2005 from George Morlan (GM). Shortly after the installation the reset on the top thermostat kept popping. Called GM and they said it was probably due to bumps on the power grid (wrong) or just a sensative thermostat on this Bradford White model, wrong. GM came out in Sep 2009 and replaced both thermostats, the one on the bottom element was burnt up and they had to splice wire, charged us $99 for labor. Still having problems, more and more frequently. Not happy at all with service advise. GM came out again and changed out both thermostats, no charge this time but didn't solve the problem. Still having to take cold showers. Called GM and talked to Patrick, he insisted that we needed to change the breaker in our panel so that Bradford White would "approve" a change out of our heater. This was total BS. Luckily my husband is an electrician or that would have been a huge cost to us. We changed the breaker, still h more

Absolutely amazing. I had no knowledge of plumbing when I walked in the doors but they guided me every step of the way. Customer service from start to finish was flawless. I would definitly recommend George Morlan for all of your plumbing needs! more

Dishonest Company 8/29/2009

Purchased kitchen faucet - did not work properly, low water stream, GM guys said it was the cartridge, replaced it, no change. GM guys said it was my pipes, replaced the pipes ($3,000), no change. They finally admit it might be a defective faucet but now can find no record of my faucet purchase. Isn't that convenient! \r \r Purchased 3 Toto toilets. Arranged for installation. Came home from work to discover GM sold me the wrong toilets! Complained. GM said nothing they could do after installation. Now the lid on one of the toilets is loose, cannot unscrew it and cannot tighten it. Means more hassle and money to get this fixed.\r \r My advice? Avoid this company if you are a woman! They take advantage of you, sell you the wrong stuff, sell you defective stuff and treat you like you don't have a brain in your head when you tell them the item is defective, does not work properly or were sold the wrong item. Amazing Customer Service! 8/28/2009

I absolutely love George Morlan Plumbing! We have been going through a very stressful remodel and they made the experience so much easier! Their customer service was great and they made sure to tie up all of the loose ends. Everything was taken care of in a timely matter and they made sure to follow through. They searched high and low for the best prices to accomodate my budget and I got exactly what I was looking for. I would definitly recommend going to Morlan for all of your plumbing needs! more

the worst customer service 2/4/2009

I ordered some bathroom parts.Upon ordering I asked how long until I received them .The answer 7 to 10 days.3 weeks later I still do not have them.I have called numerous times, all with the promise of a call right back after they check into the order.Not one call back.I cancelled my order and just went to home depot.I would not recommend them to anybody.Not unless i did not like the person more

Good experiences for years 11/5/2008

We've gone to George Morlan for years and had a good experience through two bathroom remodels, a kitchen upgrade and the occasional replacement piece. They offer us good pricing and customer service. When I needed proof of purchase to follow up on a company's warranty for a faulty faucet, they were able to provide the info. more

Very poor customer service 12/26/2007

I have been a George Morlan customer for 21 years. This used to be a great company to deal with. Not so any more, unfortunately. They still have a few (very few) really good people but most of their customer facing employees could care less about the customers they are serving. It just seems to get worse every time I use them. I had some issues that I needed taken care of and their "service manager" essentially told me that Morlan did not want my business. They are only in the water heater business now and that's it. Needless to say, there are lots of plumbing companies in the yellow pages and when my Morlan water heater needs to be replaced, you can be sure I won't be going to Morlan to get another one. I don't see Morlan staying in business much longer unless there is a major attitude change amongst their employees. more

Sloppy Work and Customer No-Service 11/7/2007

We had the "King" install our new, top-of-the-line water heater a little over a year ago. The installers left our garage in complete disarray with nuts and bolts everywhere. They used our ladder and did not put it back. We called (5 times) to have them pick up their implements, but no one ever returned our calls. The other night we smelled rotten eggs in our garage and determined that something was wrong with the water heater. We were told that our warranty had "just" run out on the labor, but the part was covered. They admitted that the gas control valve was defective on this particular Bradford White product. Instead of just charging us for labor, they tacked on a service charge. We had to pay $149 for a 45 minute service call. The invoice only added up to $124, but when I called, they told me we actually had been given a special discount and the bill should have been for $174.00. They simply don't care about their customers once they sell their product.Our Sears water heater lasted more

Our Jacuzzi tub experience. 10/26/2007

My husband wanted to surprise me with a Jacuzzi tub for my injured back and have it installed before our anniversary on 10-31. First of all our tub was supposed to be delivered in 7 to 10 days. It took 3 weeks. My husband saw an ad in the newspaper the following week for the same jacuzzi and he was told it was a different tub but they would reduce the price by not charging us for the heater. We received the jacuzzi and it was the wrong tub and the Manager at the Portland store said it was our fault because they shipped us a tub with the drain at the wrong end and the skirt on the wrong side. They would not take it back and it would cost us extra to restock the tub and get the right tub. This has turned into a disaster and we are very unhappy with this whole experience. more

Worth a drive across town 7/4/2006

This is the original Morlan's location - and still the best. The salesmen know what you need, even if you don't know the lingo. The expert assistance makes any job easier. They truly are as the ads say ? the Water Heater King?but so much more. Sinks, fixtures, showers, bathtubs, and any plumbing need you have, they got the part ? or they can get it. This is old fashioned service at it?s finest! One thing to NOT MISS is their annual sale - people come form all over the northwest to get quality plumbing fixtures at huge discounts. more

Great selection and customer service 8/29/2005

I just love a place that has great customer service. The staff here was so helpful when we were looking for a new water heater. My husband and I told them about the size of our house and our heating needs along with being energy efficient. The salesman directed us to a couple of water heaters and helped us decide which would best suit our needs. We picked one with a sale sign on it, of course, but the sign was put on it by mistake. They honored the sale price all the same! They also have a great selection of other household items like tubs and sinks. more
