Gentle Dental is a scam. Worst excuse for a dentist company ever. how do u scumbags sleep at night your suppose to help people take care of teeth issues not just talk money like a stoker broker. more

This people are thefts. They convinced me to perform a deep cleaning when I didn?t need one. My insurance did not pay for it because the gum inflammation was not the required measures. As a result, I ended up paying a bill of over $600. more

I usually don't post reviews but I am very dissatisfied with Gentle Dental. Other reviews are correct. Be ready to first fill out a ton of paperwork. As I went through it I realized that they care more about their business than their patient. The place looks like a factory with dentist seats next to each other. My wife also went through a terrible experience with them. They told her that she needed surgery and the amount requested for something that seemed small was ridiculously expensive. She got a second opinion and obviously she didn't need surgery. Everything was fixed after 2 regular visits. Once, I was 15 minutes late to an appointment and they didn't want to let me wait for the next available appointment even if I was OK waiting for an hour or two. Of course, they charged me for that. $45 if I remember!! I recently went there for a cleaning, and I was told that I first needed X-rays. I didn't want to argue about the danger of x-rays, that was not my point. I had X-rays, at the same place, by the end of 2009. I don't have any pain and I only needed a cleaning, nothing more. When I refused, they got upset and refused to do the cleaning. They tried to convince me with 'don't worry, it's covered by your insurance'. Then, in front of the dentist, the assistant told me that under Florida law they couldn't do a cleaning unless I had had an X-ray within the past 13 months. I had to leave without getting my cleaning. It's very hard for me to get some time off and I lost my whole morning for nothing. I then checked with my insurance and they told me that it was a lie. I also checked at the State Board of Dentistry... and again, no such law. My wife called back, giving them this information but they keep telling us the same thing. Now, I am trying to get a copy of my X-rays and they want to charge us $25 for that while the Florida laws are very strict about that. They cannot ask such amount. more

I moved down to south florida and had to see a dentist. the location seemed convenient, however, getting my insurance through to them was awful. i called at least 5 times and got told different stuff each time. after 2 months of bull s*** i finally got cleared and made an appointment. The dentist(lady with dark hair) was nice but i seemed like another number. i had to make another appointment to get my wisdom teeth pulled. i was told it was going to be all 4. right before the surgery the workers were talking about the night before, etc. the surgery seemed fine, until a MONTH later my right side of my tongue was STILL numb. I went back 3 months after the surgery and told them, and they said it could take up to 6 months for feeling to come back. A YEAR LATER I AM WRITING THIS REVIEW AND MY TONGUE IS STILL NUMB from the surgery with a damaged nerve. Gion Carlo Bland was the oral surgeon. He was nice, but it doesnt change that half my tongue doesnt have an feeling and wont for the rest of my life. On top of that, they charged me for four teeth..and only three were pulled. I could feel in my mouth that there was only 3 teeth pulled so after i brought it to their attention they say oh yeah, we have a credit for you. Needless to say, i got it as a check because i will NEVER USE THEIR SERVICES AGAIN. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. RUN AWAY FROM THEM AND FIND ANOTHER DENTIST!!!! if you choose this place, be careful, look at your bill and have them explain everything in detail bc they scam anything they can!!! more

Terrible service. They don't return phone calls. Had a toothache and requested an appointment. No one called back or emailed. When I told them I was changing dentists and wanted my digital x-rays emailed to new dentist, they charged me $25 for duplicate x-rays. There are no hard copies, so in effect, they made $25 for sending an email. I am writing to their corporate office. I understand Gentle Dental is owned by an attorney. more

We suppose to have cleaning procedures and turned out they had all kinds of problems on our teeth, Dr. Alfred BOVE is the butcher and the Office Manager Jennifer is the bitch for handling things in that office. The worst thing of all, Butcher (Bove) did the bridge and my gum is still bleeding after almost ONE Year and still cannot bite food with those teeth, still bleeding under it and have to suffer every nite when floss it. Complaints have filed but didn't do any good. IF YOU'RE WISE CUSTOMER/PATIENT, PLS DO YOURSELF FIND SOMEBODY ELSE, THERE ARE MANY MANY OTHERS AROUND PLANTATION AREA. ***do not go there and get into the fire hell***, you will be the 1 to suffer not the butcher and the bitch... This outfit is interested in one thing and one thing only; digging into your pocket. I recently asked for a cleaning and dental exam and when the benefits statement from my insurance company arrived I noticed that they submitted for a periodontal treatment instead of a cleaning. This was the second time they had done this. The first time I had several procedures done at once and failed to notice it., but when I went in to ask them to explain their reason for having done a periodontal maintenance instead of a cleaning they said it was because that is what the doctor had recommended. I've been going to Gentle Dental for the past 1-1/2 years and every appointment has been without incident. Every employee that I have come into contact with, has been professional, friendly and easy to work with. It is no wonder, that each time I arrive, the waiting room is busy. First off let me start off by saying this is my first online review I have ever written. This should illustrate the frustration and lack of customer service i experienced for me to actually write this. My father and I went to this office for a simple cleaning. Prior to the clean, on Friday the 26th, my father took time off of work to come to this office and get his teeth clean. We have adequate funds and excellent insurance for any procedure. Once we stepped, heart set on a cleaning, we were ambushed with misc. paper work and waivers to sign. WHAT?! did I miss something? waivers for a cleaning? Is that legal? from right there we felt this place to be shady. My father needed a simple cleaning. After my father completed them, they insisted on taking xrays. My father informed them that we can get them a copy of the xray from our previous dentist, they agreed. then the office manager came out and said no, that we have to pay their fees and use their xrays, even if we had xrays done less than 2 weeks ago. I could understand if there was major changes in my fathers mouth, due to an accident or something, but not just to TAKE more money from us. We refused, they agreed we did not need it, and then the office manager came and override everyone. Not very good contradicting your staff and yourself. We have never heard of anything bizzARE LIKE THIS. what a horribly low way for them to gain and extra penny, and in the end they lost 8 customers. EVERYONE READING THIS OR JUST SKIMMING OVER IT DO NOT CHOOSE THIS DENTIST. THEY ARE HORRIBLE WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY WILL ADD ON TONS OF ADDITIONAL FEES AND PROCEDURES. PLEASE BE WARNED!!!!! I'm a student new to FL and I looked up online where to go for just a regular cleaning and check up. I chose Gentle Dental because one of the doctors is a graduate of Nova (where I'm currently going). When I got there, within 5 minutes the receptionist said to me ""You're gonna be a doctor?"" ...very condescendingly. I'm not sure what she meant by it but it wasn't fun to get asked like that. Then they misspelled my name and even though I told 3 different people it never got changed. They didn't check on my insurance and told me I wasn't covered so I had to pay out of pocket, then go through a 3 month appeals process in which they were less than helpful. On top of that, when I finally found another doc and wanted my x rays transferred, they charged me within 24 hours but took a week and a half to send them out! Notice I haven't said anything about the doc...she was nice enough but the complete lack of office organization and customer service turned me off and I would really recommend NEVER going there. more
