I first visited Gentech Dentist in 6/12, and it has been an Excellent experience (as far as excellent experiences to the dentist can be). Dr. Edwards is very knowledgeable, patient-friendly, and explains procedures well before beginning them. Krystal, his Assistant, has kept me informed on progress, costs, and keeping my insurance concerns in line, as well as being Friendly and very knowledgeable in her job. Tania, my Hygienist, has done an excellent job cleaning my teeth and providing me info to keep my teeth in the best condition. I recommend Gentech to all. more

I have been a patient at Gentech Portland for a number of years and have had a tremendous amount of work done including scaling, a root canal, wisdom teeth extractions and a crown placed on my front tooth. Through every procedure I have been beyond satisfied! Everyone I have encountered is friendly and professional and I always know I am in good hands. The bill is never a surprise as they always provide a print out of the estimate including what insurance will pay and what I am responsible for. Pros: null Cons: null more

I had a good experience during my first visit today and I'm pretty picky about my dentist. I have no qualms about shopping around until I find the right one. I particularly liked the option to wear earphones during the cleaning because I don't like to be chatted at in that situation. Everyone was really friendly and thorough without bombarding me. I didn't feel any pressure to purchase more services than I really needed. more

Dr Nardecchia is very caring and took the time to call me at home to followup a root canal and crown. He did not charge me extra for a followup visit when I had some concerns. And since I do not have insurance this was most appreciated. more

I have had scaling done several times and know it ca be painful. Fortunately, having the procedure done at Gentech Dentist on Macadam was relatively painless. I was also impressed with the professionalism and friendliness of my Periodontist and hygienist as well as the other staff members I met. I highly recommend this Dental facility. more

The worst dentists I've ever been too. I got a $99 bill for a bad exam and ONE xray. The staff was SOOO awkward and I hated every minute I was there. I felt as though I was being looked down on just because I don't have insurance. online they say they have "a variety of easy payment plans" which is not true they want their money upfront before they even talk about anything else. I was able to go to another dentist, Bright Now! and I love them to death! i got the exam and FULL set of x-rays for $39, and they were able to help me out with a of the payments and finding every discount they could possibly give me, while being amazingly nice! For what Gen tech quoted me $4000 worth of work Bright Now did it for $1500. Don't waste your time at Gentech. more

Interesting, I wrote a poor review about this dentist about a month ago and it has since been erased. \r \r I would like to share my sentiments that my experience with Gentech Dentist on Macadam was probably the worst dental experience I've ever had. Here's why:\r \r * They're billing methods and procedures were inadequately explained\r * They injected me with Novocaine with added adrenaline without asking me first for a cavity filling - which subsequently resulted in a horrible dental experience with side effects lasting over six hours\r * They told me I needed expensive dental work that my new dentist said was completely unnecessary. The dental work they tried to get me to sign off on would have been $400 out of pocket with insurance. \r \r This place is a total rip off. \r \r If you're looking for a false sense of comfort and glitz (like having a dental wedge called a "tooth pillow") by all means, go here. But if you want quality dental care definitely go elsewhere. more

I am a happy patient from Gentech Dentist on Macadam since 2005. I have routine cleanings and exams. Dr. Nardecchia and staff have taken great care of me. Dr. Nardecchia pulled one wisdom tooth with no pain, swelling, or bruising. Last night, a crown from 2004 popped off and Dr. Nardecchia and his staff were able to examine, x-ray, and re-cement the crown on my lunch hour. I have no complaints about there work or service. trina more

I have never had an experience with a business as bad as the one I had at Gentech. Prior to my first procedure, I requested that I handle the bill ahead of the procedure, so that I was not making 4 digit financial decisions while drugged. This request was ignored. Later, during a routine root canal, the dentist broke the drill bit off in my tooth and was unable to remove it. They never quote the the amount they were actually charging, and somehow my $1500 procedure has ballooned into a $2600 debacle, and they're still saying I owe them $200 for a cleaning I already paid for. This is after they somehow wanted to return a credit for $500 they mistakenly billed. Anyone I've spoken to at billing has been terse and condescending. Gentech's ineptitude is astounding. The people running this practice have no idea what they're doing. To top it all off, I lost a job due to all the extra visits and I STILL have cavities. I'd give Gentech zero stars if I could. If you don't like going to the dentist then this place is for you. The staff makes you feel at ease. The dentist's are all pretty good. You don't have to wait often, they seem to be on time the majority of the time. more

I was really impressed by my visit at Gentech, normally going to the dentist is not an experience I am looking forward to but they made me feel really comfortable, provided a blanket during my cleaning and the hygienist was gentle and thorough, my teeth feel so clean. The office was very appealing and so high tech all the records are digital and they have digital x-rays, something I had never seen before - it made me feel like they were cutting edge and probably up on the latest dental techniques. These people do EVERYTHING right! I've had so many negative experiences with dentists when I was younger that I was scared to go. Not only was Dr. Christensen friendly, but the whole staff was really nice as well. The front desk lady helped me understand my insurance plan, which was totally helpful because I couldn't figure it out. Plus they have a 'request' service, that you can ask for things to make your visit more comfortable, and they'll have it for you every time you go. Even stuff like a Starbuck's latte! Maybe it's because I hadn't been to a dentist in almost 10 years, but I was particularly struck by the strangely hip feeling of the Gentech dentist office on SW Macadam. I had a broken tooth that desperately needed attention, and I had a great time as Dr. Josh Eubanks filed down my tooth and gave me a mini-root canal with a temorary crown. I really did. Why? Because they provided me with up to date popular magazines, because they played alternative rock radio in the screening room, and because Dr. Eubanks is a hip young guy who couldn't be more than 5 years out of dentistry school, and likes They Might Be Giants. Despite the topical anesthetic and the squealing drills, I nearly forgot that I was leaned back in a denists chair. As for the quality of the actual work--it was great. I couldn't afford the full blown root canal and crown job, so they treated it with a temporary that has lasted me over 7 months now with careful useage, and the office staff was considerate enough to check in more
