Who can doubt Geisha? This place has the best food! I love the atmosphere, the people, and everything about it! Great place! Bring the family!

After reading many good reviews and really looking forward to the experience. It was average to say the least. First it is kind of a dirty place, and the tables are kinda of the c...

Geisha still Hot!!! 5/16/2006

Had dinner for the third time at Geisha last Saturday. It was amazing! The food, the service, the scene. Everything was still happening. After almost two years the place is still IT! Saw ""The Game"" as well as beautiful women everywhere! Definitely recommend the Mongolian Lamb Chops, the Taru Taru Rice & the Hollywood Roll. The only downside is you can't stay all night and dance afterwards! more

Perfect every time 5/15/2006

I've been to Geisha House many times since the day they opened and things are only getting better. The excellent food, impeccable service and stunning decor make this one of the BEST restaurants in LA. They have 2 private rooms which are perfect for business dinners or special occasions. Fridays and Saturdays are the usual crazy busy nights but that adds to the fun and I have never had to wait for a table or a space at the bar. I recommend this palce to all my friends and colleagues and no one is ever dissappointed. Pros: Food, Inventive Cocktails, Decor more

Love it! 5/15/2006

Simply put, Geisha House is utterly fabulous. I have had an amazing time on every single visit (I live in the neighborhood) and just wish I could go more often. Sushi is always melt-in-your-mouth good and the servers friendly and hilarious...especially their goofy uniforms. It can get a little bit too crowded and busy on weekend nights for my taste (I am a little bit of a hermit though, so you would probably like it) and I recommend going earlier in the week so you can have some extra attention from the staff. Pros: Beautiful, food, funny servers Cons: Busy! more

fun like a club 5/12/2006

such a whirl. so clubby. love going to geisha, it's a whole night out. more

AWESOME!!! 5/7/2006

I have never had SUCH A GREAT TIME AT DINNER!!! The chefs are the friendliest in LA!!! I did not have a citysearch account, but with this kind of service, I wanted to tell the WORLD about this experience and also to know that NO TRIP TO HOLLYWOOD OR LA would be complete without dinner at Geisha House. The chef (JESSIE) would suprise us with rolls I had never tried before, and every single one of them was the most delicious!!! I expected only to have great sushi with my friend and a couple of drinks, but I wanted to stay =) It was like they were my friends and kept me entertained with such creativity! I will definitely go back about twice or three times a month if possible. more

Great Time 4/30/2006

Pretty awesome night considering my sister was in from out of town and a huge Ashton Kutcher fan. He was there! I know locals, you don't care. But for those visiting from out of town, this is the place to star gaze. Last time, I saw Hillary Duff and Kevin Bacon sitting in different booths on the main floor. The waiter even brought us a free round of shots after our 3rd round. Good food, good service, great atmosphere. more

Pleasantly Surprised 4/1/2006

I'm not the guy in Hollywood that goes to the ""trendy places"". I enjoy substance over hype. However, I had friends in town that wanted to check out the scene so we ended up at Geisha House. Our server, Lauren, was amazing. Beautiful, witty, and very knowledgeable about the menu. That whole beauty and no brains thing tends to be true in Hollywood but not in this case. She recommended a few dishes and they certainly were the stand outs on the menu. Also, we asked our server for the sushi chefs to make us a few things off the menu and they obliged happily. I find the food very good, reasonably priced (Katanna and Roku have the same items but at a bit more), the ambiance fun and service exceptional, not at all the snobby Hollywood style. GH is great for a night out and I'll be back. Pros: Service, Food, Atmosphere Cons: Trendy more

great time AND great food 3/20/2006

my husband and I have been to Geisha more then once, we even brought friends from out of town to check out the ""hollywood "" scene, but that is not the reason we go there. The food is incredible, and whoever is commenting otherwise just hasn't ordered the right stuff! our favorites: maguro spicy taru taru, alaskan king crab leg,and beef robata, and not to mention the sushi. If in doubt of eating here, definitely try these items you will not be disappaointed.our service has been excellent and as for the price 4 people can eat AND drink like kings for $300 plus tip, and if you are use to going out in hollywood thats about the going rate for dinner, you're there to eat and enjoy the experience not penny pinch,if you can't handle it stay home and order domino's and i'll take your reservation! Love the Geisha girls! Pros: mouth watering food, great sake, excellent service more

Always a good time, but... 3/12/2006

This restaurant isn't about food.. ripped off from other restaurants and it's not as good. BUT!!!! WHO CARES for the not so superior dishes when you can drown yourself in taseful alcohol, dance the night away on the second floor, watch King Kong on their super huge projection facing the entire east wall and watch tons of crazy, gorgeous people have a great time. Two story fire place splitting the restaurant / bar / club and you get the chance to catch glimpses of naked reality show girls wrestling in the private room (it was really funny). If you're fun, you can easily do so here. Pros: second floor club, lounge, overall so fun Cons: food is not superior, not for the cheap more

Uber Trendy but Fun 2/21/2006

You go to Geishahouse to have great drinks, loud conversation, celeb spot, & have just a generally great time. As soon as you walk in you're treated to visual overload & fabulous drinks, my favorite being a Geisha's Kiss. Not for the romantic 2 person dinner, more for the bigger crowd going for a bachelor party, birthday party, or a group of 4 hot chicks who want free drinks all night =) Staff was friendly, not snobby as i've read here, and we had a blast (group of 8 of us). Food is OK and overpriced, but I didn't mind since everything else was so much fun =) Pros: Ambiance, Drinks, Crowd Cons: Reservations a must, Food overpriced more

Don't come here for the food... 2/18/2006

First time, tonite. Ambiance is overated, but at least they spent some money which is rare in LA. Lots of HOT women...yowsa. Does every guy in town wear jeans with an untucked striped dress shirt? If you haven't guessed, I haven't been out to a club/trendy restaurant in some time - wife/kids and 40 years will do that. Food is an afterthought...expect to spend about $30 pp on food, plus whatever you want to drink. I'd go back if I were single and 25... more

Small portions 2/17/2006

I went with a group of six for a friend's birthday. We made early reservations for 6pm, and we were seated immediately on a Saturday. The ambience is nice and trendy. BUT the food is really expensive for the small portions that they give you. The black cod was delicious, but not worth the price. We ate again after we left Geisha. If you come before 6pm, you can park across the street for $8. But after, they raise the prices to $12. It's better to valet park at night. Pros: ambience Cons: expensive, small portions more

headache at first, fun overall 1/8/2006

Geisha house is a super trendy spot. We had a large party reservation. The first guy I coordinated with was very cool and friendly. When my party increased in size, the second guy I dealt with TRIED to impose a ridiculous minimum on us. When we got there, the hostess was snobby and demanded that at least 17 people out of 20 show up before they can seat us. She was unnecessarily rude. The food was good...the waiter was pretty attentive and the atmosphere rocks. ""The Hollywood"" roll was delicious. The restaurant is loud, crowded and trendy. Good for people watching. Overall, a good experience- once you get seated. Pros: Great atmosphere, Creative dishes, People watching Cons: some attitude more

Great Food 11/27/2005

I am from San Francisco and eat at some of the best sushi restaurants, and was very impressed with this place I don't understand why some people think it is expensive, because it is not for what you get. Sorry but you do have to pay a little more for quality food. It was not the best sushi/sashimi I have ever had but all the rolls are really great along with the cooked food. There is also great creative apps. like the ""hollywood stars"" dish. The sauteed calamari was excellent as was the kobe(expensive but worth it) and the crab legs. Ohh did I mention the house cocktails, they are made with sake, and very creative. Also a great selection of desserts which is hard to find at many japanese restaurants.Overall great service especially for how busy it was. Pros: food, drinks, service Cons: loud more

Super fun, ok food 10/17/2005

Went to Geisha last weekend... we had a great time and were pleasantly suprised by how good the service was... although the food was pretty blah and music was Top 40. I live in SF and guess I'm used to high quality sushi and good lounge house. But what Geisha's offered in return is a trendy restaurant where celebs are known to hang out... just the prior week my g-friend saw the entire cast of Laguna Beach there. Too funny. Overall I enjoyed my experience and am happy I went, but now it's off to somewhere else. Pros: Trendy, Celebs, Easy Parking Cons: ok sushi more

Very trendy but very fun.. 10/17/2005

This place is awesome. First off, a dinner for two (2 drinks each 5 choices of sushi and desert) only set me back $150. Considering this is one of the ""hot"" places to go...it was refreshing not having to fork over $200 for a meal. The food was good (I've had better) service was great, but you go there for the scene. Lots of beautiful people everywhere. The bar was very packed which added to the atomshpere. I won't recomend this place if you plan on a quiet dinner with a signifant other because this place is loud. Pros: fun, food, service Cons: loud, expensive valet more

Skip it. 9/3/2005

Beautiful setting, definitey. But if you're looking for quality sushi or exciting flavors, don't go here. Pros: attractive space, cute waiters Cons: price, quality of fish, uno exciting flavors more

Fun 8/22/2005

This place is so much fun. The food is good, really good for a hollywood hot spot. Love the martinis and geishas walking around. Pros: Food, Drinks, Service more

How You Gonna Keep 'Em Down On The Farm? 8/17/2005

Hey, it was this hayseed's first time in a place even remotely like Geisha House, and it's now my new favorite restaurant on the West Coast. Bottom line: I sold a couple of patents just out of enginering school in 'Bama and have traveled the world ever since, licking my plate clean at restaurants like the Tour d'Argent in Paris and Cibreo in Florence. But I looooove this Geisha House: killer appetizers, radically inventive sushi, and house cocktails like you wouldn't imagine, all dreamed up by the sublime Shareen. Oh, and speaking of the ladies, the baby dolls are just falling out of their sundresses! I got a little property dispute to settle back home, but I'll be back to Geisha House in a Tokyo minute -- PoorCountryBoy says count on it, folks. more

Delicious, but May Cause Hearing Damage 8/15/2005

The room is aesthetically pleasing and the sushi was actually really good, but the music is just way too loud. We went in a group of 8 for a birthday and it was like dining alone - no one could hear each other. I was actually shouting directly into the ear of the person sitting right next to me and it was STILL difficult to hear... Pros: food, decor Cons: too loud more
