my laptop had a dead disk drive and i called wholesale coputer supply and the said they could replace it for 145 dollars and best buy wanted 290 dollars after i thwarted thier may attempts to buy a new laptop and geek rescue wanted 250. i ended up taking it to wholesale and they did install a disk drive for 145. after i got home i turned it and the screen said "INVALID SYSTEM DISK". i called them and they said that the price did not include an install of windows xp home. i pleaded with them to help me out and finaly they said ok. so i took it in and after i got home i noticed that sound was not working and i could not get any connection to my router. i mainly played solitare so i didnt throw a fit about it. THEN,, after25 days i got a popup saying my windows will not load cause it isnt activated. i called wholesale and they said i was past my warranty and i would have to pay more money to fix. i hung up on them. i called geek rescue and told them my story. i think they call him old man houser, but he was very nice and explaind what was going on that my windows needs a product key entered to validate. he told me theres a 54 dollar minimum which is fine with me. later that day i got a call from them and they told me that for 108 dollars they could get windows acitvated and install drivers for wifi video audio and the memory card reader. the also did all of the windows updates and installed a service pack 3. they installed avast antivirus and cleaned the screen. when i picked up the manager notice my work uniform and said that he knew the boss where i worked and would cut my bill in half. that totaly blew me away. when i got home the laptop works like a charm. wish i would have went there the first time. i told every one at my church and i told my boss at work and he said hes not surprised, hes been using geek rescue for the past 7 years. this was last month but i wanted to give praise where its due. i ran across judys book looking for auto salvages. seems to be pretty helpful.
