Okay, really, what is the big deal and fascination with this place. I have eaten there plenty of times and while my friends always rave and love it, I think it is below average. ...

Fuel and Fuddle a Delight for College Students! 4/14/2006

Fuel and Fuddle is a fun and popular hang out in downtown Oakland. My favorite part of Fuel and Fuddle is the after 11 PM half price menu. You can order many inexpensive classic American foods such as large sirloin burgers and delicious chicken salads. Another great bonus to Fuel and Fuddle is their large selection of alcohol. From their extensive beer collection to the fun mixed drinks, it's a great hang out! more

Fuel & Fuddle 3/28/2006

They have delicious sweet potato fries! If for no other reason, it is worth it to go once to try them! While I might like their fries, there's not much more on the menu that appeals to me. I tend to be a fairly traditional eater, and new twists on food don't always appeal to me, especially when the more traditional choices aren't available. For example, I like to have a wrap sandwich and fries. They don't have normal wrap sandwiches. Their wraps are herbal, and are much too pungent for my taste. It is also very difficult to find parking. more

Fuel and fuddle 3/22/2006

When I went to the University of Pittsburgh this was one of my favorite places to eat. When you would get fries it was a mix between sweet potato fries and regular potato fries. The sandwiches were always very good. My favorite item was the buffalo chicken pizza; it had pieces of friend chicken in hot sauce on it and a nice hot sauce on the pizza. The service was always excellent and behind the bar you could see the wood oven they used to cook everything in. more

Fuel and Fuddle - Good food, good brews. 11/13/2005

Great beer selection. (the first 3 pages of the menu are just beers). Good pizzas, oustanding appetizers. The rest of the menu is a little ho-hum, but it has its high points (like the bourbon burger, and the fish sandwhich). Price is not too bad, especially if you hit it after 11pm (half-price). Service is outstanding, I've never waited for anything except a table. Service: 4/5 Food Quality: 5/5 Value: 4/5 Overall: 4/5 (not an average) more

cool theme restaurant 9/22/2005

Fuel and Fuddle is one of those theme restaurants that make up its own name for everything. This place has a race car theme but despite that the food really isn’t bad. They tend to serve dishes that aren’t difficult to prepare and are simple in taste and flavor. more

Interesting place 9/2/2005

Good food and interesting combinations. I love their ribs..some of the most juicy and succulent ribs I have ever had, the only drawback is they are only available at certain times (5 - 9). They do have a great appetizers menu, however again I think it is a little pricey for the area. I do love their salads...great greens (not iceberg) and always fresh. They also have great dressings. more

Great Brick Oven Pizza and Beer 8/31/2005

Be sure to check out this restaurant in the heart of Oakland. The food is quite good, but one of the real draws is the beers. They have never ending drink specials and a selection from all over the world. WIth meals such as the "hang-over cure" you can imagine the crowds normally found here. The half price menu after 11 is a popular choice, so be sure to show up around 10:30 if you want a table for a good number of people. more

Fantastic place for late-night food! 8/21/2005

Fuel & Fuddle is a fun restaurant, with menu items that you are not likely to find elsewhere, and huge variety of beer options. After 11 pm, the food is half price and the place is packed! Make sure to try the drinks, which are always served potent. The appetizers aren't great -- stick with the nachos. Once you try the Smashed Potato Pizza or the Smoking Hen Pizza, you'll be craving them for eternity. more

great for late meals! 8/17/2005

Fuel and Fuddle is a fun, loud, energetic, college hangout. The food is pretty good (try the pizzas they are excellent), and affordable. The beers are great. They have this great beer challenge, in which you sign up to get a card that lists all of the 100 beers available at the restaurant, and if you manage to drink all of them, you get a plaque on the wall with your name on it! They are open till 2 am, and all of the food is half price after 11pm, so its a great place to go for a late meal. more
