Electronics Paradise... 6/29/2006

I’ve been to Best Buy, Circuit City, Walmart, you name it. I have to say that Fry’s Electronics is the best Electronics superstore out there. They have it all and there are deals a plenty as well. Hubby and I don’t EVER go there for the heck of it because we know we are going to buy things that we don’t need but can’t live without. Yep, we only go when we need something and THEN we end up buying things that we don’t need but can’t live without. LOL I swear, our house is the land of dying electronics and appliances. There is always something that breaks, not all at once but sometimes. LOL We break coffee carafes (and hate buying just the carafe, it’s too much!), our microwave decides to stop heating (it sounds like it works though, what a fooler!), our phone dies (even though the battery has been replaced)…it's just alway our luck. And we don’t buy expensive appliances and electronics, we want good quality for the best possible deal. Now it’s often hard for us to find both but when we do we most often find it at Fry’s. Just yesterday I found some mini DVD-R’s selling $17.99 for a 10-pack. That’s outrageously cheap for those! Any other brands were at least a 5 pack for $10. We did buy a $30 microwave there, which is the wacky one that messed up on us but I blame the manufacturer rather than Fry’s. Silly me didn’t keep the receipt like I always do. There are so many departments in the store, probably the same as Best Buy but to me it looks like 10 times more. They have the typical areas like appliances, TV’s, video games, computers, DVDs, CDs yet the part that I haven’t seen at any other electronics store are computer parts that you can build a computer from scratch with. I have no idea how to do that but that just shows how in depth they get with what they sell. Beware of when you wait in line to check out. There are absolute tons of candy and snacks for last minute purchases. And don’t be scared by the lines…they actually move pretty quickly. My only beef with Fry’s is that the return system takes forever. My hubby had to return a printer from his job and it took it at least an hour and had to visit 3 different areas of the store. Fry’s has a website www.outpost.com which doesn’t show everything they have but don’t be fooled, there is SO much more. If you are lucky enough to live near one I highly suggest going there…but be careful, you can easily spend money there! more

Wild place to shop 4/3/2006

If you love technology, and you want to leave all your money somewhere, this is the place. There are just aisles and aisles of everything the tech hound could ever want. There are always ads in the Sunday paper, and you can see the kinds of deals available for the week. But I will warn you- if it is a really great deal, you better get up early, because they are certain to be out of anything really good, really fast. Overall the prices are decent, and you can find anything you need here. more

Huge-mongous store. 10/14/2005

Eeheeheehee....this place brings out the electronics lover in me. I usually oogle at the video games, being such a kid, and give a pounce or two on the DDR display once in a while. I swear, this place has everything!! Books, dvds, tv's, music players, software, computers, computer acessories, oh my goodness, i would get lost in here. in fact, I think i have. The staff is also very helpful since most of the time, they know exactly where things are and can give you details about certain electronics. Oh and they also have a little cafe in case you get hungry =) more

good place to find everything 9/21/2005

This is a guy store through and through. They have just about everything a geeky guy could ever want. My husband says that the staff is much more knowledgeable than the other electronic stores. Even though he usually has something they can't answer. Parking is easy. The store is huge. We usually spend more time trying to check-out than we did getting our stuff. Especially around the holidays. And they have to check your stuff as you are leaving to make sure you paid for it all. This is so horrible. When you have a lot of stuff this can take a long time. Then they usually have to count it twice. So be ready to wait. more

Everything 8/8/2005

This is such a guy store. Hands on trials. All the latest equipment. No sweat parking. Huge selection. My husband spends hours in this place. We have made several purchases and have been satisfied with the products. On the telephone, the employees are helpful and cheerful. In person they are friendly & knowledgeable. more

Humongous selection of great electronics! 7/14/2005

This place literally has it all. Everything that is used with electricity is carried here. From computers to Dance Dance Revolution metal pads to lava lamps, you will find what you want. Even though it is always busy, that is okay, because there is tons of space, and the checkout line is very fast. The staff, in general, seems to know where things are and how to get to them, but it may take five minutes to walk to the other side of the store ;-) more

Awesome electronics store! 7/13/2005

This place is amazing! Tons of electronics -- everything from vacuums to computers!! They have a HUGE selection inside of a huge store and the staff is usually very helpful (although there are a few bad apples). Check out is usually quick, too. The store is set up so it easy to navigate and because it's so HUGE the prices are considerably lower. This place always has great deals. We shop here for ALL of our big ticket items. more
