Been in a couple of times and sat at the bar for some Warsteiner Dunkles or Oktoberfest. The pretzels are very good, especially with the mustard. The brats are great and that's about all I've had. more

4/5 Stars\r \r I stopped in Fritz and Franz last night. I had the Bayrische Bierbretzel (beer pretzel) Jägerschnitzel mit Spätzel\r (pork schnitzel with spatzel) and Bratwurst. Overall all were good. I enjoyed the Jagerschnitzel and Spatzel most. The pretzel was a pretzel and the brat was so-so, nothing really wrong with it - it just didn't arouse my tastebuds as I'd hoped.\r \r Beer: yes, they have beer... But most of it is Warsteiner which I don't find to be particularly good beer (and neither does anyone on beeradvocate.com) and it is available anywhere. They do have Tucher, which I enjoy and of course they have AB-InBev's German beers (Spaten and Franziskaner). They have a couple of selections that I don't see everywhere (Erdinger for example), but don't coming expecting an amazing German beer selection. more

Went to Fritz and Franz Bierhaus for Coral Gable's 4th Annua 6/19/2011

Went to the 'Bierhaus; as part of Coral Gable's 4th Annual Restaurant Week, June 6-19th. Googled 'German Restaurants', Miami, Florida and found the ""Fritz and Franz Bierhaus” Restaurant Week specials menu. Arrival; parking was great, there is a parking garage next to the restaurant, but you have to walk all the way around the huge building to get back to the entrance. However, the surrounding Gables architectural views are stupendous. Upon entering, my wife and I were warmly greeted and promptly seated inside. We did not order from the 'Restaurant Week' menu, instead ordering the suggestion of the waiter, Jagersnitzel. This was delicious, filleted, pressed pork chops smothered in gravy with mushrooms/bacon and sides of pasta belles and sauerkraut. My wife ordered from the lunch menu, after asking if this could be done. She had a Black Forrest ham and Swiss sandwich. She ate all of this but she usually brings ½ home in a doggie bag. I ordered a dark German beer and my wife had Dewar’s scotch. The waiter also brought us beer schnapps, a specialty of this German Bierhaus. Afterwards, for dessert; I ordered an espresso ice cream and my frau the apple strudel. Both were excellent! Also, while there, we watched the Florida Marlins baseball team play the Tampa Bay Devil Rays on one of the many large TV screens that are scattered about the restaurant. Leaving, we had to negotiate thru the tables outside in the open air plaza, and back around the building to the elevator to the parking garage, but viewing all the Gables shops nearby was an experience for my wife who had not been back in years. \r PS I never met the owner, who surely would not have been there. I read that he owns several restaurants in the Miami area and leaves personal appearances to the managers, who were all professionals, especially at this Bierhaus. \r more

Salads all wonderfull. Sausage is the best ever. And we had a german bartender that really knows his beers:-) more

I have never had anything good here, except beer. The music is great if you don't live right next door. Too many liberties taken with the "public areas" outside the restaurant. This place should be more respectful of other surrounding businesses and residents! Shameful!!! more

Worst place ever 6/23/2010

the owner is a complete jerk and like the other guy says his breath is horrible. the food is bad and ridiculously over priced. i mean $16 for a burger. service was terrible. i went with some friends and the entire staff was hanging outside while there were clients inside desperate for service. I asked for water and they wanted to get my plastic cup back. i understand minimalism and recycling/reusing, in fact am all for it, but they were like ""bring me your used plastic cup cause these are for beer, if u want water pay for a bottle."" never going back there. horrible place Pros: none, well maybe the beer Cons: everything more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 1/22/2010

This place is great. The food may not be authentic German but it is delicious. I've tried a variety of dishes as well as everyone of ther different styles ad tastes of beer and I have yet to be let down. I've been going here for 2 years now and would recomend it to anyone looking for a good time and a good dink more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 11/15/2009

Go here for the beer, maybe a game . . . BUT DO NOT EAT HERE. The food is horrendous, and the place somewhat gross. Do yourself a favor and eat at another gables restaurant before getting blitzed here, you'll thank me. more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 8/14/2009

The pretzels and mustard can't be beat! Unfortunately the same can't be said for the rest of the menu. It's a fun place to hang out for beer and munchies, but I wouldn't recommend ordering an entree. \r \r Bierhause takes too many short cuts - like not preparing Spaetzle properly (it is supposed to be cooked twice: first boiled, then pan fried). They only offer chicken schnitzle - as opposed to more flavorful (and traditional) chicken or veal. Dishes are accompanied with a soggy, bland mass of potato salad and canned cranberries. Very disappointing, especially at $19 a plate. more

Best Austrian/German Food in Miami! 5/27/2009

Best Austrian/German food you will ever find in Miami!! That's if you know it! I am Austrian, and have not come accross a better Wiener Schnitzel or scrumptious sausages anywhere else in Miami, and I have tried many places over the past 15 years. It tastes just like eating in Austria.\r Ambiance is great, and the staff is always a lot of fun. Whenever I go, they make me feel like family! Pros: Food, ambiance, staff! more

This place is totally worth it! 5/23/2009

Hello my name is Ivan I have never been to a bar where I have actually felt as if I was at home in Germany. The food reminded me much of home like my mothers cooking lol. The service was great my waiter was accurate in receiving my orders for my friends and I, The beer was very satisfying and once again the food was GREAT! The restaurant itself was clean and as well my friends and I stayed even after dining to watch the game in all it was a satisfying, fun and great experience I've have had since I have been living here. The FRITZ & FRANZ BIERHAUS can only be described in one word GREAT! Great for sports junkies, Great for beer lovers, and Great for familys and friends who just want go to a fun friendly environment and have a great time in a German/Austrian orientated restaurant! Pros: Best bar/gril I have ever been too! Cons: non what so ever! more

Worse Food on the Planet 4/29/2009

I went there with some friends and the food was awful, the prices were insane, the service was terrible and the manager had the worse breath on the planet. Pros: Nothing good about this place Cons: Everything about the place is terrible more

The Worst German Food Ever 4/28/2009

This was probably the worst dining experience that my friends and I had in a very, very long time in Miami. The service was awful and our server must have been wacked out on something. Not only was she an airhead, but she forgot half our order - 3 times. The food was sub-mediocre at best when it did come. The few people that were there were a bunch of burned out drunks. It smelled like the place had not been cleaned in over a year. We couldn’t even use the bathrooms due to severe sanitation issues, and had to leave to go to another restaurant to use their facilities. Over priced beer and under delivered ambiance is what I got from this glorified hot dog stand. \r \r Avoid this place if you don’t want to feel like you got ripped off. \r \r On the other hand, I did have a very nice meal at the Sports Exchange just across the way at 130 Miracle Mile. Great food, great prices and a great crowd. Pros: I can't think of one Cons: Everything else more

Amazing restaurant and bar 4/21/2009

I've been going to the bierhaus for several years and I can honestly say that I've had nothing but positive experiences. What I love most about the bierhaus is that it's suitable for many occasions such as watching soccer matches (they are almost always playing live matches and if you're signed up to receive their electronic newsletter they will email you the list of matches being shown that day), birthday celebrations, enjoying live music, or just having a good cold beer (they have an excellent selection). The staff is extremely friendly and personable. You really can't go wrong with the bierhaus! Pros: Friendly and attentive staff, delicious food, great beer Cons: None that I can think of. more
