We bought our wedding set from them. Within the first 8 months of wearing my engagement ring, I had the same diamond fall out of my engagement ring TWICE. They replaced the entire ring with a new identical one. Then, I had the same diamond fall out of that ring too! Though I have a warranty which will replace the diamonds, I don't feel I should have to go through this every six months or so (which is about how long it's been between each diamond falling out). I asked them to replace my four main diamonds (one of which keeps falling out) with one solitaire to avoid this from happening again in the future. They said that they can't do it free of charge. I've have spent hours on the phone with the store manager and have left numerous messages for the district manager. The district manager refuses to return my calls. Friedlander's refuses to replace the four main diamonds that keep falling out with one solitaire. They said we'd have to trade in the four small diamonds (even though one is missing) and in addition pay $500+ for the new solitaire. Oh yah... even though we've suffered the same inconvenience multiple times with two rings, have experienced emotional damage, hours on the phone, etc., and spent thousands of dollars on their jewelry, they offered us $100 towards the new diamond (which isn't squat when your spending thousands). This is a very precious piece of jewelry, with a tremendous amount of meaning and purpose. Yet they don't seem to care. I am a very sentimental person. The fact that I no longer wear the original engagement ring on my finger anymore hurts! Despite our warning them that we will take legal action, contact our local news stations, and post bad reviews about them, they will not accomodate our requests and fix the jewelry that has broken multiple times due to their terrible craftmanship/quality. My recommendation if you are considering Friedlanders - TAKE YOUR BUSINESS SOMEWHERE ELSE!
